Summer Transfer Window 2017

A disaster not to get a top striker in but much stronger squad.
A lot of big players have signed up for a crack at the top 4 that,s gone this season.
I can see more out,s than In,s in Jan but if we get a top striker and fluke a few cup games then we may have a run on a cup.

Be interested to hear exactly what went wrong in the striker search (not that we ever will). Does smack a bit of not being able to afford one after the Barkley deal fell through.
Maybe being optimistic to think that Giroud will reassess his options in January.
It's a situation that needs resolving on Jan 1st though.

According to today's Sunday People, Niasse wasn't the only Everton player who had a collapsed move to Palace as we had lined up a swap deal to sign Van Aarnolt with McCarthy going the other way

Does anyone know if there was any truth to the Kenneth Zohore link?

It made me think how few transfers there were from Championship (and below) teams to the Premiership.

Off the top of my head I can only think of a handful at best. Will Hughes,Tom Ince,Chris Wood- then I'm struggling!

Is the gulf between the Championship and Premier League really that big?

Do you mean this window or in general? Because half of the Moyes era team were from the Championship.

Yeah. This window. You would think there would be a rich vein of experienced talent who could step up.

Another thought. When was the last time any of the top 6 actually bought a lower league player who made it? Deli Alli?

Can't even think of a single one that United,City,RS,Chelsea or Arsenal have bought in recent years.

Interesting. He's not a great defender, but decent going forward.

See Mourinho saying Lukaku would have been £150m on transfer deadline day...

The early movers really did seem to benefit - us with Pickford etc no doubt.

Pickdord and Keane would also of cost us a lot more so it balanced out, besides in the games we played before the window shut we did well so we sold him at the right time and properbly for the right price regardless of what happened next

He would never say he had overpaid, in any deals. If that was £150m they won't pay it. They were dragging in and out of the Morata deal because of about £10m.

And if we sell Lukaku late then the fees of Pickford and Keane would go up in the same manner.

After what happened to Yobo...we are going to do deals with Fenerbahce again? Never learn is it lol?

£900k for Kev on loan what is the point? Sell him or keep him.
