Aston Villa have told Bruce he has to sell to buy this window due to FFP. I wonder if that means we might take a look at their LB Amavi? They seemed determined to keep hold of him last summer turning down a £20 million bid from someone for him supposedly, he seems highly rated although I've not seemed much of him to judge.

Sad but true. I hope that our improvements this season have shown we're at least on the up again after a couple of way below par seasons.

We recruited Steve Walsh so that we're not relying on names, but hidden gems that other teams don't notice the value of. If we go for names we will lose out to other clubs more often than not at this stage of our project. We need more consistency before we can attract names.

That 'one other' was often Davis or Ward-Prowse though, as they were box to box players who got back and helped the defence out as well - it wasn't where the creativity came from. Of the players we've been linked with, Klaassen would be ideal for that role.
