Summer Transfer Window 2017

Lewis Baker is a great shout, I know Chelsea rate him really highly, along with Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah and I think there was a striker they also had.

Ziyech was worth the gamble, as was El Ghazi who has just moved to Lille. if we truly have some decent money then £7m for the young European talents aren't exactly any more of a gamble than spending £28m on Bolasie hoping he can find consistency for example.
I was a bit surprised at El Ghazi move tbh. Maybe a direct result of Ziyech coming in.

But Ziyech is the superior player for me. I was interested to see how he would fare at Ajax. At Twente, most teams would play openly against them giving Ziyech plenty of time and room to do his stuff. At Ajax, most (in Holland) would park the bus, and I wanted to see how he would cope with this. I've continued to be impressed and he's pretty much kept up his goals and assists ratios, which are both excellent for a midfielder.

Suppose we could still go for him in the summer but he would cost a lot more than the pittance Ajax paid for him.

As regards Baker, and the other Chelsea players mentioned, I agree they are all excellent prospects and shoe ins for the current U21s who I think have a great chance at this years euros. The problem is that Chelsea buy in the finished article and they are rarely given an opportunity. I thought this may have changed with Conte coming in, but Chalobah and Loftus-Cheeks have been sparingly used this year.

He's been off form and out of favour since before the start of this season.

So has Delboy but we all know there is a quality player in there somewhere. Just a case of getting game time and a manager that really trusts in the player, then its upto the player to repay the faith. Sometimes a fresh move is best for all parties.

I think you have to try and think what type of player the manager likes for who we will get in the summer one in particular that screams Koeman to me is Antonio at West Ham.

Desperately need a goalscoring midfielder.

Sigurdsson would be perfect for us. He is a great age, loads of experience, is a leader in the Swansea team and offers added expertise from set pieces. Seriously it would be a no-brainer to go after him. We'd have got him for less than the 25m we spent on Bolasie I am convinced.

A wide player / offensive midfielder would be very useful as Mirallas isn't much good, Bolasie is finished as is Lennon, and Deulofeu isn't up to it in this league.

Then a top class centre back. I have to say I am happy with Robles right now, but let's re-evaluate at the end of the season!

Definitely need to invest a good 50 to 70 million on three class players to go right into the starting eleven.

4-2-3-1:
Robles or NEW GK
Coleman / Holgate or Mori or NEW CB / Williams / Baines
Gueye / Schneiderlin
NEW AM / Sigurdsson / Davies or Barkley
Lukaku

What positions do yer reckon we need then lads?

Without losing anymore I think we need to fill GK/CB/AM/S positions.

Cover both defensively and on the wings is looking threadbare as well though I don't think its realistic to expect a truckload of new signings.

Those four as an absolute minimum for me, ideally I would like us to sign six.

Jagielka, Lennon, & Kone are likely to leave and surely Barry will be used very sparingly if at all.

No way Swansea could sell him in the middle of a relegation battle. Plus the Chinese bid is irrelevant if the player doesn't want to go there.
I don't disagree with you conceptually... but that's hardly the point. The point I'm making is, if he leaves Swansea it will be for a huge sum of money and I suspect that the sum will be in excess of Koeman's valuation of the player.
