Summer Transfer Window 2017

Absolutely no excuses whatsoever to not significantly strengthen the squad this summer. With or without the sales of Lukaku and/or Barkley. If we go into the season with any of the current goalkeepers or centre backs as starters then it's been yet another gigantic cock-up. At worst I could just about stomach one of Jagielka or Williams for a season, but only if alongside a genuinely top quality centre back partner. The likes of Mirallas and Barkley should be made to fight for a start, and Baines should not be allowed to further slip in terms of performance as he has in recent times. Let's see what the board is all about.

Not if that 34 year old is what keeps you in the top division another season....
They don't need him mate. If they kept their squad they have now they'll easily finish mid table again! Anyway absolutely no chance at all they've offered anything like that in my opinion.

BOWLER BID REJECTED

Sky sources understand QPR have rejected a bid worth up to £3m from Everton for teenager Josh Bowler.

The 18-year-old midfielder made his debut for Rangers in the 4-0 defeat at Norwich on the final day of the Championship season.

Bowler attracted an initial offer of £1.5m, with the rest of the fee due in add-ons. QPR are determined to keep the player, who signed his first professional contract in February this year.

He joined the club in 2013 after being released by Fulham.

Fine then he is on £10k a week and £19m up front. Either way it is £20m over 3 years being reported. Which is ridiculous.

I like Eddie Howe as a coach but he needs help in the transfer market.

Well yeh. I'd imagine 70/80k p/wk plus the signing on fee (if the 130k is true).

That may also not even be a 'base' deal, but instead will depend on goals, apps etc.

However, I think it's an astute signing for them.

Money aside, he'll guarantee goals that combined with King (should he maintain this season's form) should secure their PL status for another year.

I still say Sigurdsson and Ross would do well together. We will see about Ross maybe tomorrow.

If we got either one of VVD or Koulibaly, I'd be stoked. I also really like Lemos, but if we are also going to pull in a Pickford who isn't really dominant in the air, we simply need a CB that is. Lemos is not. Doesn't mean we shouldn't go after him, but we aren't dropping 200M, so we can't sign everyone.
I think Sigurdsson has qualities that Ross lacks and vice-versa. I think it would be a good balance, but would we be overloading on midfielders? It would be interesting that is for sure.

Absolutely, he is not a replacement. They are very different players.

But this idea that he's not going to produce due to some things that Llorente does better than Rom is just crazy.

Players like Sigurdsson and even our own Tom Davies simply see the field better than Ross. Ross is at his best when he draws defenders to him which allows other players to get open, but he has to be more decisive when he has the ball. Pass, make a strike or get down the field. Ross has been getting caught too many times with the ball at his feet. It's better to make a harmless mistake than to produce absolutely nothing because you lost possession.

Exactly.
