Players like Sigurdsson and even our own Tom Davies simply see the field better than Ross. Ross is at his best when he draws defenders to him which allows other players to get open, but he has to be more decisive when he has the ball. Pass, make a strike or get down the field. Ross has been getting caught too many times with the ball at his feet. It's better to make a harmless mistake than to produce absolutely nothing because you lost possession.

Exactly to what Ross' problem is.

I dont mind if he shoots, i dont mind if he passes, as long as he makes that decision either way. Most of the time he dallies and doesnt do either and thats the most frustrating thing about him.

He's at his best when he's playing off instinct, rather than having time to decide a pass/shot.

I love Ross, but he is too anxious with the ball at his feet. Koeman needs to slap him lol.

He is Yaya Toure ish in that regard. Much better when he can see the field. He gets claustraphobic the higher he gets up the pitch
the reason we play him high up is because it limits the damage caused when he eventually loses the ball. Martinez welcomed those mistakes, Koeman has tried to get rid of them and Ross appears to prefer the formers approach to his playing style.

I feel it's probably safer him losing the ball with Gana and Morgan in the team. Not that he doesn't lose it still anyway.

You're not wrong. I think he has the most potential from deep though. It's hard to rely on him in that position when you expect him to make untimely errors as you said.

I think that whether Siggurdson is the answer or not depends on who else they bring in. If they bring in a top class winger and another striker with pace, I think Siggurdson is perfect. He doesnt have pace, which is fine as long as the rest of your strike force has it. What he does have is an eye for passing. Think about how many times this year against inferior sides they packed it in and we struggled to break it down, because we didnt have anyone who could make those passes. We would always attempt to bring Barry on for that purpose. If you have a great striker, and 2 great wingers, what you want from that position first and foremost is a great distributor.

That Bowler might have been handy in a derby.

If Koeman had his way I think he'd just play with two Coleman's and stack the wings with midfielders lol. I always wondered why he didn't go after a winger in January until we went on that glorious run in the 2nd half of the year. Now that Coleman is effectively Ded for a few months, I think we will bring in another winger ASAP

If Ross stays I wouldn't mind seeing him playing in a 3 with Morgan and Gana tbh. Driving from deep is what he's best at. Leave the front 3 attacking positions for quicker more intelligent attackers.

You know, Gylfi plays CM in a 4 for Iceland I think...perhaps koeman is adding him in there?

Schneiderlin Sigurdsson Gana starting...

+Davies Besic and an u23 player rotating in?
