He's only 18 and already played too many games this season. He needs rotating properly.
Half serious half joking. I remember him playing early on and he had a total nightmare of a match.
But the very few times I've seen him recently he looked steady.
Probably means that Griffiths lad we keep loaning out will get released id guess.
..I agree, it's hard to see him being the answer.
Oh god no. Hewelt is not the answer. Not by a long shot.
But I wouldn't be opposed to getting rid of Stek and Robles and having Hewelt on the bench with mr new keeper in the team.
Think we could see Joel leave with Hewelt and Stek kept to go with our shiny, new keeper. That would fall in line with Koeman's 3 keeper concept discussed last summer...that would be high risk. It only takes a serious injury to your no1 and you're stuck with the lad until January.

Well there'd be a third option too of course.

Would rather keep Joel than Stek, but I think Joel wants to go be a #1 (somewhere) and I can't fault him for that.
Onyekuru will be a bit disappointed I reckon. He didn't get top-scorer, he didn't even get best young player of the year. That award was won by the "New Benteke" (totally different player but okay if they want to use that name) Dimata. Dimata has a transfer to Wolfsburg lined up but it won't finalize if Wolfsburg go down.
The Times are running the same Gylfi story. Seems wages are the only hold up. Encouraging.

Everton are understood to have agreed a fee of £25 million with Swansea City for Gylfi Sigurdsson — but the midfielder has rejected the Merseyside club’s offer of £100,000 a week in wages.
Sigurdsson scored nine and created 13 league goals as he helped to steer Swansea away from relegation. The Iceland international earns about £80,000 a week at Swansea but is holding out for an increase to £130,000 to join Everton.
Swansea accept that their 27-year-old playmaker is certain to leave and have had interest from other Premier League clubs, including Southampton. Sigurdsson was voted player of the year for a second consecutive season by Swansea supporters last week and also won the award for the players’ player of the year."
Not saying we have or we haven't stalled on wages but if we are to try and push on and compete with the teams above us then we need to start offering good, competitive wages! Some of the teams above us are paying near on double the amount we've allegedly offered Sigurdsson! I'm not for one minute saying we should do that but is giving around £150K a week to top level players too much to ask?!
The problem is that talented players like Sigurdsson will be seeing others like Jesse Lingaard getting £140000 and expecting the same. It's the going rate unbelievably! Not saying we have or we haven't stalled on wages but if we are to try and push on and compete with the teams above us then we need to start offering good, competitive wages!
