Summer Transfer Window 2017

Yep, I did post that in your defence a few pages back ;)

I also slated him when we were linked as well, awful player and has been poor since he left Holland.

A bit like martina, although martina was awful in Holland as well
My problem with these sort of signings is that they are always presented by the optimists on the forum as back up signings but they then end up playing a lot of first team football. Folk on here act like we had Stek and Robles as our interchangebale first team keepers because we failed to sign our first options for GK but for all the transfer chicanery last year we were never seriously linked with any decent keepers. My fear is that Cuco would be our indisputed first team RB until Coleman is back which could realistically be Feb or Mar of next year by which time our season, like this years, could be over.

And he will be if he's seen to be good enough. Do you expect him to play every game from July until after Christmas with stupid europa qualifiers, friendlies, league games, league cup games? Bit unfair.

in rotation with Holgate yes I do the lad is 20 and raring to go he has earned his chance

...Italian media outlets are linking us with Nicolo Zaniolo of Serie B side Entella. 17 years of age, clearly not for the first team but our scouting network must be identifying these youngsters.

The weasels have been scared back into the shadows with us saying it would be released early.

Success, but they will come out.

Do you see Martina playing in a big three for us??

I see Martina - a far better, more complete player than Kenny CURRENTLY is - playing centreback and perhaps, when desperate, in a front three with Deeney and Mirallas

Perhaps we shouldn't sign anyone then? Doesn't matter who we sign - on that basis, the message to the U23s will always be "you're not good enough". Mosh, close the cheque book, the kids have got this.

hardly mate we are talkng about a back up right back deemed not good enough by an average team blocking the path of one of our most promising young lads when there is a vacancy in the squad

Any fume about Martina will be limited provided we do decent business elsewhere.

I can live with this sort of signing provided we get in 6 or 7 of the more apetite-whetting variety.

Problem is when Martina-type signings come at the beginning rather than end of the window.

There isn't much room to hide for the club this summer, we will have a very clear idea of how things stand in just a small number of weeks.
