This is the same old garbage we had with Moyes. Buy in some adequate (no better than that) squad fillers and aim to be best of the rest. While the teams we are looking to catch aim to have two quality players in every position we load up on this dross and can't understand why we never (or very rarely) finish any better than "the best of the rest". We still lack ambition, sadly.

Mate, we need a very good GK, a pair of very good CB's and Koeman has been banging on about needing more goals, creativity and productivity in the attacking positions so that could be 5-6 really good players at a big cost! Say we go for 6 and they cost around £20-25m and we go the highest value for example, £25m a piece, that's £150m to fill vital positions within the team. We're not gonna then go out and spend decently on a RB so Koeman is looking at a freebie that he's worked with and knows to come in and help out. It's low expense and low risk.

And by the sounds of it Koeman isn't keen on using Holgate at RB much as of next season so that leaves us with young, inexperienced lads like Kenny & Connolly and even though their talents it would be wrong to go into the season having to rely on them at RB. They will have their dips in form so it will be better to bring in an experienced head like Martina to help out so we don't over use the likes of Kenny & Connolly.

And bringing in Martina won't hold those lads back, they will get chances and get time I believe with the amount of games we will have, or atleast one of them will, Kenny probably, so me personally I think it's a good move.

There is other, more important areas of the team to fill out with better players this summer than there is at RB and I can see the logic in this sort of signing by Koeman.

So would I, I'd love an Hazard or Willian, a Mata even but we need to get real. That level of player just isn't going to sign for us this summer. Ok, a top player at one of the top clubs may get shunted out after their club goes on a spree to improve themselves but it's still not a given we would get chosen ahead of others when it comes to going for those players.

Thorgan has been linked. ;)

This is not the embargo i was looking for.

M'Baye Niang will return to Milan from Watford , considers it inappropriate to tie for another season at English club, he believes closed his adventure with the club of the Pozzo family. And so the Watford will not pay 16 million agreed: he would, but only in the presence of total enthusiasm from the individual concerned. But be careful because the future of Niang has a good chance to still be in the Premier is the first choice of Koeman for the new Everton , the same as Everton who had probed the market in recent sessions. It now has a proposal ready by 16 million at least, for Milan a real opportunity to make money.

And to think we were going to sign him 5 years a go. :/

That would be a terrible signing. Milan got rid of him and replaced him with Del, and Niang has done absolutely nothing of note at Watford.

If this is the calibre of footballer we're going for, we should all be a bit worried.
