Summer Transfer Window 2017

Deeney to WBA seems a reasonable story. That said Ronnie (Ronald Koeman) has a job on this summer as he faces losing his main creative and his only goalscorer while rebuilding a squad for a 60 game season from one built for a 40 game season. While he may have the latitude to splash out on a few eye catching continental names, they are a gamble in the EPL. Likely some of the signings will be more of the Ashley Williams ilk. He cant gamble on 6-7 possibles - he has to have 3-4 certain to do ok types. It is ok to rely on the youf to some extent but they fall into the gamble rather than the certainty bucket as well. So don't be surprised at the occasional Cuckoo Martini as we may need them for the away leg at Tractor manufacturers of Ukraine.
Our squad only lasted 35 games. Maybe that was because of a lack of motivation once top 4 became impossible, maybe it was fatigue. Either way the last few games were embarrassing. We need a good number of new players (not Deeney!)

Surely we don't need to make a £30m profit on transfers to start the new project, we just need to earmark £30m of TV money.

I don't understand the bolaise hate.

The bloke can change a game and has pace.

Deserves more credit and was very unlucky.

Bolaise is a great guy. But I hope he still has his pace and impact when he comes back. Same with Coleman. Coleman was one of the best in the league in his position so it's a bigger loss imo.

To quote Jaws.
'We're gonna need a bigger boat/squad'

Still undecided on Bolasie, benefit of the doubt.
But if Koeman wants to sack off Barkley for 10 goal plus attackers, why did he spend 28mil on someone who has never scored more than 7.
It was on a podcast recently, something to do with keeping Everton income/ expenditure as close to neutral as possible. They linked it to Steve Walsh type appointments

Don't want to/don't believe this for a second

That cant be true. If they are asking for a net neutral in the transfer market with the absolute mind numbing TV contract, Koeman would walk and I would absolutely applaud him for doing it.

Orly why are we such a joke of a club?

I have no idea Mr Baines von MuscleFrandel, it seems that Ronald Trump has joined us and is well on-board with this sort of thing (he managed it at Southampton too) and now we poor fans are getting another round of sell to buy operating profit magic.

It's a joke, it really is.

He did it at Southampton don't forget when they used Liverpool as a means of grossly overselling.

Moshiri is smart, he realises that real estate is a safer bet that football, so he's wisely charting the club's finances in that direction. Don't want to be saddled with massive debt if the footy bubble bursts
