.....it’s a very wet Wednesday morning here on Merseyside. By my reckoning, there’s about 9 weeks of the window to go and here’s today’s Toffee Transfer rumour round-up;
- According to Corriere dello Sport, Everton are interested in AS Roma forward, Gregoire Defrel. The 27 year old Frenchman spent last season on loan at Sampdoria, scoring 11 goals.
- Football London report Everton have joined West Ham in pursuit of Lorient’s 21 year old winger, Alexis Claude-Maurice. West Ham have apparently bid £10m for the player.
- Soccer Link say Everton are one of a host of clubs negotiating a transfer with Adrien Rabiot and his agent Mother, Veronique. The 24 year old midfielder has refused to commit to a contract extension at PSG.
- Lapagina Millonaria suggest Santiago Sosa has European family heritage but is struggling to get a European Passport and this is holding up his transfer to Everton.
- FC Inter News say Marcel Brands has initiated preliminary talks with Argentine 1st division side, San Lorenzo, regarding striker Adolfo Gaich. Milan have also been alerted to his potential and are prepared to loan the youngster to Genoa as they feel he’s not yet ready for a Champions League football.
- Estadio Deportivo have been speaking to Henry Onyekuru’s agent about his future, William D’Avila says, “Henry is open to everything, he would like to step to one of the big leagues”. Turkish daily, Tavkim, however say Galatasaray are closing in on Onyekuru’s signature for another loan, although Everton will not agree to a purchase option.
- Tavkim also report Besiktas have not given up on a loan deal for Everton’s Nikola Vlasic. The Toffees have put an €18m price tag on the Croatian but have had no interest in a permanent deal.

Christ, some of the ‘sources’ on these. Only June and the barrel is being scrapped for clicks.
....little activity anywhere, but I expect things to pick up early next month when the main transfer windows open.
The windows are open, mon frere
Clubs will be back in pre season in about three weeks time, they will want their new signings completed and ready to start on the first day, if possible.

....I understand Italy/Germany open on 1st July and Spain on 2nd July. The French and International windows opened on 11th June. Deals might still be done but I expect activity to ramp up when players can be officially registered, especially with players generally contracted to 30th June.
There has been very little activity anywhere to this point.
