They really haven't. Take Messi out of that team last year and I'm not sure they finish 4th. Busquets Rakitic Suarez and Pique are on the back end of their careers and some of the younger guys weren't to the level they expect yet.

If after this window they have De Ligt, De Jong and Griezmann than that's a different story. But that team was Messi and 10 other guys last year.
