Yes, lots of deals may be done but the vast majority of deals are done after the 1st of July.

Brands has also stated that he would rather get the right player tomorrow then the wrong player today.
Marcel is right. Joe Walsh released an album (1973) entitled 'The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get'. It's major song (Rocky Mountain Way) talks to exactly what you are referencing.

Regardless, its just pointing out that deals get done out of the constraits people call a transfer window.
Its really not though, its really just pointing out that contracts expire at the end of the season, and that people who dont have a club are free to sign anywhere, anytime.

So does that mean that Gomes deal is done then!

Not that clued up on my derivatives - the only one I get is Marmite - or was that an extract??

Gomes to be announced in a few weeks but my mate who knows stuff (actually a former actor turned agent active in MLS deals, but he has his ear to the ground, also most famous for a role he played in an early 90s Stephen King adaptation), let’s just call him “Jobe”, says Gomes wasn’t Brands first target but he wasn’t able to pull the trigger on the first guy lined up. But still happy with Gomes despite his lack of top end velocity because he fills a need in the roster and is a great locker room presence. Anyway, just passing on what I hear, don’t hate the playa, hate the game yo! @orly

Sorry, it's actually 11. I even did a numbered list for ease of reading.
  1. Daniel James to Man United
  2. Lossl to us
  3. Anwar El Ghazi to Villa
  4. Jimenez to Wolves - agreed in Feb, yes but still a summer move
  5. Jota to Villa
  6. Lloyd Kelly to Bournemouth
  7. David Martin to West Ham
  8. Roberto to West Ham
  9. Patrick Roberts to Norwich on loan
  10. Hong to Wolves
  11. Joel Senior to Burnley
#4 doesnt count in the least for showing the activity of teams getting things done in the past couple of weeks. They didnt get it done during this window, its just going in effect this window. #10 and 11 are youth team signings. Beyond that, you've then just used a whole bunch of free agent signings for the question of why transfers between clubs hasnt taken off.

There have been 4 actual transfers, James, Kelly, El Ghazi, Jota, so I exaggerated again.
