Mate, Marcel has signed ALL the ballers since then. We are now odds on to win the domestic treble next season. As we speak Goodison is being fitted out with specially strengthened nets to cope with all the blammos.

This could very well all be just his agent stirring things up to get a better deal for his client and a nice bung for himself. But you wouldn't put it past him to manipulate a move for the same reasons either.

Lets just sit back and see what, if anything, develops rather than just dismissing out of hand.

So I’m asking because I haven’t the slightest of clues but say by the skin of our teeth we get Kean from Juve (lets say for £28m) but they want a buy back clause on him (let’s say for £45m) would it be impossible for us to add a sell on clause into that deal for developmental fees (let’s say 15%)?

To me this would be a great way to prevent what happened to us with Deulofeu and Barca completely. If that scenario did happen and they decided to sell him on right away after activating the buyback for £90m, that would be a year or 2 with a very promising talented young player, gaining £17m in the process with an additional £13.5m for the sell on clause for a grand total of £30.5m gained for us and £73m for Juve.

Whut?

We made a "profit" on Geri, we also took a slice off the top when he was resold by Barca to Watford.

So yes, we will no doubt cover ourselves, like we did with Geri, the Geri margins are so small mainly cos of the price we paid in the first place and the price he was sold at the end.

Mina also has a buyback clause, which is roughly a double our money price if activated.

Not necessarily though. Much depends on whether or not Moshiri is prepared to underwrite any additional expenditure. If we shift any of these players on, barring one or two, they are inferior players on high wages. Bids for those sorts of players don't usually come in until the end of the window. I'm sure they all know it would be suicide to leave any of our main dealings until after we have sold a load of players.

I suspect Brands has demonstrated to Moshiri that he can be trusted and, as such, we will move to secure most of our targets now, with the intention of then moving players out afterwards. That isn't to say that we won't then try for a couple more in if we manage to ship out the dross, but I reckon we will get our main ones in prior to most of ours being moved on.

That also isn't to say that this way isn't fraught with risk. If we can't shift enough of them out we'll be knackered by FFP. But as I said, I suspect Brands has instilled belief at board level that he can be trusted to do this.

If it’s just a profit we want then we should sell Digne , Gana etc. these deals only favour the selling team, like inachano at leceister. If he is good they take him back and sell him if he’s really good they take him back and play him, if he is cack and flops we have another sandro / bolasie situation on our hands. I would rather pay a bigger fee and have him outright . I have never seen him play but if 20m is the fee with the buy back I would rather pay 40 and have him as our player

He earned the abuse he was given at Utd and the supporters deserved it back off of him. It wasn't like he had done nothing to incur the ire of the fans. He's a prize bell end.

To suggest we started it goes to ignore all of the grievances Lukaku had caused sections of the support who were happy to see the back of him when the time came.

Think it was Henry said that lukaku said the he never felt appreciated by the fans here. Why would the fans not appreciate our best striker in the prem era? Because he and his dad used to talk about moving and speaking as if he was playing for a second division Belgian side that’s why. We are usually pretty good to ex players if they have given effort and never disrespected the club. You don’t even have to have been a top player, Naismith got a good reception it’s all about attitude , effort and respect, he didn’t really show us any so it’s jot surprising really
