I doubt he was trying to be racist mate. Maybe suggesting that a young black person in a notoriously racist country would no doubt worship a black player playing for Italys biggest club.

This forum has gone on racist and bigot accusing over drive
whether he meant it or not, why bring colour into it?

there was absolute no need for a comment like that

every country has its problems with racism

He was more giving the real context of what Kean’s dad was saying.

No need to make it a big deal especially when it’s been moderated properly.

I posted yesterday that I didn’t think Juventus would sell Kean at all but it looks like it’s Kean pushing for a move. Surprising considering they gave him a great opportunity this season at such a young age.

This could be a real chance of getting a young superstar in if we throw money at him.

Just another Millennial who thinks things should be handed on a plate.

Horrible people.

Riola is his agent, he is possibly telling Kean that if he goes to Everton, he can be on more money and be at Real Madrid or Barcelona after that on mega money

Do you think the abuse and subsequent lack of support he receieved has played a part in this?

If he joins Inter Milan I’d probably say no it hasn’t played a part in it. He’ll get the same ridiculous abuse wherever he is in Italy.

Logical for sure. It’s a good example of a player not respecting the club that’s made him though. If he ends up playing for us I’m willing to see past that..

From his own team mates though?

I assume you mean Bonucci? Up there with the stupidest things ever said by a footballer I think.

No defending it at all but something tells me he wants to move for the money and not any other reason - just look at his agent..

from what i've read kean's dad said that his son picked obafemi martins shirt when he was a kid

the poster was trying to allude it had something to do with race when there was no such context to suggest that was even the case

In the US when Jeremy Lin became the first Asian-American player to make any kind of real impact a bunch of Asians went out and bought his jersey. Italy 10-15 years ago was a bit light on players of African descent, or at least that's my understanding so I thought it could have been a similar situation. That was further influenced by me reading about how Kean had spoken with Balotelli about some of the struggles of trying to break through into football as a black Italian. Also I thought the quote from his father saying he also had Inter in his heart because he bought a kit when he was young was a bit silly so I was saying it could be something like him getting a Martins kit because he was one of the few players that he could closely identify with. I probably should have said all this to start with.

He only played 500 or so minutes last year which isn't really that much. And staying at Juventus means he has to beat out Cristiano freaking Ronaldo to get consistent game time. I can't really blame him for wanting to get a chance elsewhere. He's on the brink of the Italy squad and he can get a pay raise by leaving too. It makes a lot of sense from his perspective I'd say.
