For a bit of perspective, the teams we will be challenging next year have completed this business so far. Suspect a few big deals will be done for us along with them, possibly with the exception of West Ham.

Wolves and Leicester haven’t really strengthened though depends on whether you rate Perez - I really don’t tbh). Utd haven’t especially either, at least not in areas they really need to.

Arsenal weaker so far.

West Ham I’d say are the only ones who seem to have significantly improved their situation. And tbf even that depends on how Haller adapts

‘Kinell lads, it’s not hard: Post about transfers, transfer rumours, transfers you’d like to happen, etc.

I, for one, do not care one jot about how many points we had at the end of November and what the spread between some arbitrarily chosen league positions was.

Watch:

I think we’ll sign Kurt Zouma, and that Lampard’s recent comments were simply a bargaining chip.

SEE?! Dead easy.
I also think we will sign Zouma
He needs game time and I think he knows he will get it here.
The Mina /Zouma pairing is similar to the highly successful partnership of Mina /Sanchez that Columbia use

I see all the professional businessmen who have ran multiple football clubs are out in force today. Mosh get on GOT and sign them all up to the board room please, they would have gotten us Aguero, Mpabbe and Ramos by now.

As it stands we are weaker than the above including West Ham imo.

2 weeks to go and we’ve got a LOT of work to do.

Remember the leicester team that won the league which was tipped for relegation.

No one knows how the players those teams have bought will fit in

Arsenal have let go two keepers, RB and lost a key player in Ramsey - with no big deals completed so far.

Welbeck linked again in the times.

This project is shaping up to be wonderful.....

*hides*
He was strongly linked with Leeds yesterday. If we wanted welbeck surely he’d be in now and playing with the team. He’s been a free agent for must be 2 weeks. Imo he will be a last minute choice if we can’t get the forward we want.

Weren't we linked heavily with Hirst who has just been released by Leicester?

Only last year I am sure

Just wow, you actually think we could have got rid of them but just didn't?!?!?!

Absolute waffle mate.

how on earth do you think business' are run?

What the hell do you think goes on behind the scenes?

"The fact they haven’t gone implies a lack of ambition in the transfer market, because it wouldn’t be difficult to reduce our asking price for those players and possibly part-subsidise their wages at their new club to ensure the deal goes through."

Could you please phone the club and impart this incredible wisdom upon them, they would value it I am sure.

I know all too well how businesses are run and how negotiations work mate.

The club will have valuations for all of those players. Let's take Bolasie for example. We paid £25m for him 3 years ago. He still has 2 years remaining at £75,000 per week. He's barely 30 and did well at a Champions League club in Anderlecht last year.

Let's assume the club have placed a £10m valuation on him, which isn't unrealistic. There will definitely be clubs interested in Bolasie, they just may not be interested at £10m. Drop that to £7m with us offering to pay a % of his wages for the next 2 years and there may be a lot more concrete interest. That applies to all of the aforementioned dross that we want rid of.

My point is, if the thing that is blocking the improvement of the playing squad is the presence of several personnel who have outstayed their welcome (and who's value is only going to diminish from here), then a club with real ambition would take the hit on those players to allow the team to move forward, rather than standing firm on a valuation that doesn't look like being met, at the cost of the current playing staff.
