Woke up to the news of the little wheezle finally being sold (officially), stadium reveal, more Kean links, fantastic photoshops.... a 3/4 chub is an understatement!

If we could bring in 11 better starting players than the ones we have, I could see us challenging for Top Four.

I’m not sure Arsenal or United have a better defence than us (Arsenal in particular) I’m also sure Richarlison would get into any or Arsenal, United or Chelsea’s first team as would Gomes likely. I think where we’re behind is we’re still lacking a bit of squad depth and a quality attacker - if we got in Zaha we would have that quality attacker

I don’t know there - United are in disarray, Arsenal seem to have a lot of problems and Chelsea’s transfer ban is hanging over them heavily. I feel for Everton this is the year we have got to get it right

We have a chance because those team's have issues but they still have way more forward depth than us. We needed a few more in earlier to give us a better chance. Currently we have very little goal threat apart from Richarlison and Sig and no depth at CB. Ok I hope this changes but not many players just come straight in and hit the ground running they need a few weeks training and some games. I presume we are trying to get the best deals, I hope I'm wrong but it looks like as we stand we will be playing catch up as usual.

We would need Zaha/winger and a striker for me unless you are suggesting a more fluid front three?

We just have to pray DCL takes a huge leap, Bernard continues his play from the end of last year, and honestly wouldn't mind seeing Gomes get a bit more in the attack. As the deals come in we shall re-evaluate.

Agreed - Zaha would break ankles and create space for everyone Richarlison, Gomes, Siggy. We would put defenses in panic mode because they wouldn’t know who to target.

Virtually everything that comes out of anyone's mouth in football is said in the knowledge that it could set the fans off.

I'm honestly not having a go at Silva or Brands here. Until the window closes, they have to pretend that they're actively looking to make dream signings all over the park. It's just the way it works.

I am in a foul mood maybe that's why I'm pessimistic ... I just think even if new players come they will need time, look at last season, it took a few months for all the players to come in. I guess we aren't in the position to do deals earlier but pre-season is important and we currently look toothless and lacking depth.

I’d personally maybe go for the more fluid front 3, with Zaha and Richarlison switching positions with each other from being out wide to through the middle, I think that would give defences major headaches

So long as his health issues are now under control then he could still give us a couple of years yet

I wouldn't spend any actual money on him, but if we could get him for free then I think it's worth considering

His versatility would be a bonus, just because he can wear a number of different hats
