This should be a very interesting summer.

It's the first one that Brands in particular has the opportunity to stamp his thinking and methods on how we do things and who we buy.

There was a need to focus on more established names last year both due to the state we were in and the constricted timeframe available.

Much will be dictated by how quickly or slowly we can tie up Zouma and Gomes deals, if we can at all.

Get both in, and I would see another 2-3 other signings on top max.

One of those must be a striker, but for extra numbers, I would not be surprised to see us utilise the loan market again.

We could be looking at close to £100m gross spend again, that really only gets three players these days, so anything further would have to be either loans, cheaper South Americans, or buying potential.

It's critical also that we shift out as much of the deadwood as we can. Schneiderlin would surely raise £15m, and getting Walcott off the wage bill for a smaller fee wouldn't be bad business either.

If Utd were willing to pay half of Sanchez’s wages would anyone take him if it meant paying him £150k a week?

He’s done nothing at Utd and looks a shadow of his former self but he always works hard and does have quality when on his game.

....not for me and thankfully i haven’t seen us linked.

30 years of age and plays like the game doesn’t matter any more, also plays like it’s a struggle. Played for Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United, so it would be high risk bringing him to Everton and expecting him to raise his game.

A 3 year contract on £150k per week could see him being similar to Sandro and Bolasie.

Yeah would be a tough deal to get over the line but I really hope Brands uses his experience and tries getting that game changer signing in up top.

I remember when Spurs were not top 4 regulars and they signed Eriksen out of nowhere who was linked all summer with Real Madrid/Chelsea/Utd who were both the two dominant sides in the league.

I feel thats the sort of move we need to start trying to pull off. I would add Neres in that bracket aswell who I really want us to sign as for me Bernard doesnt score enough to be a first team starter every week however Brands seems to have poured cold water on links to him so think that's a no go.
Bit like Richarlison you mean?
