90M for Richarlison? Yeah I'd take that.

I'd miss him, but that's Hazard money.

How about 60M and Thomas Lemar coming back our way? We love La Liga rejects.

Ha ha. How did u know my porn name?

Okay I'm being miserable but I'm reading posts here talking of 20 outs and 25 ins. I mean this is cloud cuckoo land, just sayin!

My post was pragmatic. I'm hopeful yet skeptical. The world of football at the highest level is turgid. I imagine you need tremendous communication/negotiation skills, a cool persona, astute mind and a killer instinct to get deals through. Not to mention the crippling effects of FFP these days. A lot of you expect miracles. Just saying the reality usually is we lose some and gain some others. Will it mean we challenge for the stars next season? History says nope. Does it mean we may do a little bit better, PROBABLY. Nothing to wet your pants over though.

I probably agree with you 90% or more, but posting a gif will get me more likes than saying I agree.

There's no doubt the #1 priority is shedding excess payroll. Hopefully we can bring in some transfer fees as well.

Step #2 is acquiring (or extending) the talent that Marco and Marcel sees as essential to the squad. This is probably a little more complicated, but it includes bringing in the right pieces for the future as well. Five incomings is a bit of a stretch, but if that includes keeping Gomes/Zouma, adding a striker, and adding 2 kids to develop for CM/RB in future campaigns, that seems reasonable (and feels like brining in just 1)/

Step #3 is profit, obviously.

So the plan is probably more simple and more complicated than it seems at first glance; in the end, I trust Marcel, because I'm biased to thinking that all clubs need a DOF and he's a sharp dressed man so what's not to like?

For any blues thinking Everton will deffo spend huge this summer and challenge top 6 I urge you to temper your infectious optimism. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of our 'top 4' form due to our successful finish to this season.

We've taken in approx 128m in revenue this year. Significant amounts of this sum go on player salaries. We have boat loads of players who have not even been at Goodison this season, proving difficult to offload. They cost a Kings ransom to support and it's money down the grid for us and it's holding us back. We made a financial loss last year but it wasn't as big as it should've been, due to Moshiri's 250m investment.

We've got massive challenges this summer. Idrissa seems likely to leave. He is such an important player for us. We will have a battle to hold onto Zouma and Gomes, two important loanees that have certainly improved us.

We are crying out for a striker who can both hold the ball up and slot goals as well.

If Brands is as good as we all hope maybe he can meet these huge challenges. However even if we fail to secure our impressive loanees and Idrissa or Richarlison leave we will have to bed in new replacements. This has proved to be tough going for our club in recent seasons. We need to build on what we have and not constantly re-build. I really hope Brands shows us what he can do this summer. I'm aware of the huge challenges he faces so I'm not as maybe optimistic as I'd like to be.

What do you think?

Alright esk. When’s Witsel signing?
