Saying we play well when he’s playing because it enables a lot of other changes. Like richy I’m the right instead of up top which also puts Walcott out and richy playing RM also allows Bernard Into the team.

I think the main change it makes to our play is that DCL is our best forward in terms of pressing the opposition and winning aerial duels plus his pace and strength that many centre backs over the last few months have struggled with. Tosun may be a more reliable finisher but he isn’t the greatest off the ball in terms of pressing, being that he’s very one paced and doesn’t have the athleticism of DCL.

If we’re going for a striker we need a reliable finisher for sure but someone who’s also useful without it in harrying the opposition and helping us win the ball high up the pitch. I’ve seen a bit of Belotti recently (who’s stock has went down a bit since he was banging in goals for fun a couple seasons ago) and I reckon he’d be very good for us.

My cousin who lives and works in Frankfurt (long way from Leipzig, admittedly) reckons his Leipzig-supporting boss thinks we have been talking to them about him.

Take this as the most tenuous of links of all time, since it's effectively the German version of "a lad in work told me..."

Poulsen will work 90 minutes for the team and has that same type of athleticism as DCL but he seems to be a much better goal scorer.

He’s actually got the digits this season but he’s normally very DCL. Quality striker, could actually work really well in our set up if Rich, Sig etc. keep their shooting boots on. Can’t see it though.

Mate yesterday told me Spurs have an agreement to buy Sessegnon for £20m from Fulham and they are in talks with Everton for a Digne/Danny Rose swap deal.

As bloody if either of that is true.

Wanted us to go for Traore before he went to Lyon. Haven’t watched him much there but I think he fits the bill.
