Gosling not coming back any time soon then lol

Think how much he must hate us for his mates to dress him like that on his stag

It’s much better than Walcott, but frankly, we are in a very different situation. And what do you mean about the lowest point of his career? If he come off and wants to stay, which I’m not even favoring in, but if he did, just a year ago he was considered every bit as talented as our current forwards. The kid had 12 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1 last year. Walcott was the single biggest issue in our attack this past year. Constantly losing the ball and producing little when he had it. Works hard, but he has to go. A loan for a kid that has gotten playing time at Barca and has his level of talent is a no brainer. At some point, we have to get Silva a left footed right sided forward.

On current form no. In your own words re: Walcott, constantly losing the ball and producing little when he had it is exactly what Malcom is capable of now, nothing more. If you want a winger with trickery, productivity with goals then you are looking at the wrong player, at least not the player he is now. He may or may not return to the player he was at league one, but what the development of Lookman and Onyekuru? Side stepping them for a sake of loanee?
The only successful scenario i can imagine from this loan move is our current wingers totally stop improving and Malcom somehow become one the of best winger in Europe.

I hope you are kidding. Walcott is the worst at ball retention on the team. He was so bad we had to move a left sided player to sit him down. Malcom went to Barcelona for 41M last year coming off an amazing year as a 21 year old in Ligue 1. One is worth 40M+, the other is worth nothing and we’ll have trouble dumping him anywhere.
I know. Maybe i was unclear but Malcom is way better than Walcott.

Surely not signing another striker who doesn’t actually score goals are we?

As much as we'd love to sign a big 40 million plus star striker this is the way I can see us going.

We've got lots of positions that we could do with strengthening.

Zouma and gomes or similar level players will cost a hefty amount of wedge alone.

Plus we ain't got European football.

He's a good age and that price is tempting.

He's clearly got talent, just seems to have lost his way perhaps in terms of mentality and holding a place down and feeling settled.

Brands/silva must think they can get something out of him.

Signing someone like him alongside a traore, who can also play through the middle gives us options without blowing the budget on one striker.

That's my guesstimate of the situation anyway.

The thing is Lookman has done nothing this season, and how bad Walcott was fur 3 or 4 months and he still couldn’t get a look in, that’s a bad sign. And how Onyekuru would do is anyone’s guess. The problem is keeping faith with them having any injuries to Richarlison and Bernard and being forced to play them, could derail our season if they don’t hit the ground running.

I don’t know how Malcom. Would do, but his 1 goal in 4 for Bordeaux at 19 to 21 is pretty good I would say. It’s no coincidence we’ve been linked with wide players.

Also if we don’t get the recruitment right this summer and we end up mid table, then that will probably be end of Digne, Richarlison and Bernard and we will have to sign 6 or 7 players next summer. We need to show them we are serious about challenging to top 6 to keep these players and attract better ones.

We should be looking at 4 or 5 players that walk into the team this summer. And maybe 2 quality back ups.

So who do we reckon we go for if gomes swerves us? There's a risk with lo celso of not adapting although he's clearly very classy and skillful.

Think I'd like us to test Leicester resolve to get tielemans.
