We are a few steps behind when talking about purchasing a PL standard striker . About 2 seasons behind by my reckoning.

We aren't that far behind. By it looks like we are about to sell a first team player and that makes it tougher.

I don't think he's excellent at shooting, he's poor. As a whole package though I think he plays an important part in how we are trying to play. He fits the system and will only get better.

I don't think Leao will give us the strength, aerial prowess or ability to occupy defenders Calvert Lewin currently does.

Leao is okay in the air, but yeah, he'll need to improve. DCL is outstanding at occupying defenders. But Leao is a much better scorer, passer, and will make a significant difference in our attack. His composure is incredible and he's only going to get stronger and better. He gets some ridiculous percentage of his shots on target and scores at an impressive clip. He is terrific coming back for the ball and can create a ton for others.

Overall, Leao is just a much better player and while it might take him a bit of time to get use to the league, he's still a better player now and has a chance to be a world class striker in the near future.
