Zaha is a strange one. Decent player and at 25-30 million it would be a good deal, anything over that would be terrible.
Maybe it’s brands throwing this in the media to try and force Barca and Juventus with Malcolm and Kean.

I don't believe we will be signing him, but anybody who thinks a player like Zaha will be signed for around 30m is absolutely fooling themselves.
Look at what far inferior players are making in the transfer market.
Zaha has nearly kept Palace in the Premiership on his own and would be an extraordinary loss for them.

80M is very steep indeed.
The money spent on transfers is crazy and makes no sense. However , that does seem to be the way transfer fees are going. Wan Bissaka 50m, Harry Maguire 80m.
From a Crystal Palace point of view the chances of them being relegated if Zaha leaves increases enormously and they need to be compensated for that.
Something similar to Swansea with Sigurdsson when we signed him.

I said weeks ago that our activity in the transfer market this summer would give us an indication as to who the real power broker is at Everton. If this story is true it clearly tells me there is somebody else helping to pull the strings at Everton besides Moshiri.

And Chelsea apparantly want him. Hes a good player but it's a hell of a lot of money and from what brands and silva have been saying this transfer doesnt fit with the model. Could be some almighty bluff as palace push a bigger bid from arsenal for him by using us and in turn they take mcarthy of our hands.
