This genuinely isn't a wind up post by the way and I'm not trying to cause bother, but does anyone think that if all these transfers we're being linked with go through that we run the risk of living beyond our means?

Yes, I know most of you will say "It's not your money, just enjoy us signing players" but I wonder how many Rangers supporters were saying that when they were splurging on the likes of Torre Andre Flo?

Do we really have the funds to sign Zaha, Iwobi and another defender?

Reassure me here people

We are being run by an accountant. A quite successful one that has handled large sums before. Our turnover does not support massive outlays so Moshiri must have said he will underwrite up to x million extra. So I wouldn't worry about it.

If we start selling everyone on the other hand....

I have posted a few times over the last 1-2 days saying the same.

If we have cash reserves to fulfill down payments on these transfers, and are committing to the rest, it means something significant has happened in our favour (which can in reality only mean Usmanov is channeling funds) although we undoubtedly fail FFP. As usual, the media are way behind but I thought someone would have picked up on it, and at least out the question out there. We have negligible commercial income and no obvious means to finance this.

If we are living (way) beyond our means, especially with BMD on the horizon, then that will bring its own consequences.
Also we sold a load of players.

I can feel the panic rising. (Only joking).

No.
But Moshiri knows a man who does.

EVERYBODY PANIC (I'm trying to be funny, when in reality, all I want is for someone to comfort me deeply, stroke my hair, and to tell me that everything will be fine)

I think the difference is that we have so much deadwood in the squad that were on large wages. In terms of transfer fees it’s only FFP and premier league regulations stopping Moshiri ploughing in whatever he wants into us. If we fall foul of that then fine we get a slap on the wrist and a fine. We’re bringing in players on lower wages though than the likes of Jagielka Sandro Williams Rooney Klaassen who we have moved out of the club. We could still free up a ton of wages just through getting rid of players we don’t even want.

This is a very different situation to clubs like Leeds and Rangers who effectively mortgaged their clubs in future success that then never happened.

Our recent signings have also probably increased the value of the club. Richarlison is probably worth at least double, Digne maybe triple, Pickford double, Kean could go the same way. This has to come into the accounting somewhere as a benefit for us. The value of the squad is far greater than when we were buying players whose value just decreased immediately.

Remember when you asked me not to call you a knobhead, well, I'm really struggling here if I'm honest Mikey so I might pop you on ignore for a few days.
