there's a good chance we go bust before they see anywhere near the full amount so I can understand them taking less from a more reputable buyer.

Think that’s because we offered £34m but it was based on us paying a small amount each year over 5 years and the player doing well.

Sounds like Atalanta are going to pay more of it upfront, which is probably more appealing to the selling club.

A) 2M a year for 17 years

B) 22M up front and 3M in 3 years.

Last week (2 July), Football Insider revealed that the club have told defender Mason Holgate that he is free to find a new club on loan next season in an attempt to get his £72,000-per-week wages off the bill.

Can not believe we are paying this guy that amount of money

This is the same club who has been paying Gomes & Gbambin £100000 per week between them to NOT play for us. Just another day at Everton.

Loans have a cost, all signings free or for money have signing fees. Note the word money does not appear anywhere in the title of this thread
