Honestly, hot take here. LITERALLY every other league in the world does this "loan with obligation". Why can't / shouldn't we? Hell, even happens here at Spurs.
Stop defending it why would any club allow there best player to leave on loan.

Atlanta offered money up front if we want the player make the offer but out fraud chairman can't do it because he's paying back the usmanov loan

And Spurs fans talk about him the way we talk about Maupay. It's not always the player's fault when they look bad
True, sometimes it works at a club and sometimes it doesn't.

I do have sympathy for Maupay. He is not the big strong type of forward, he is more the annoying waspish style of player who does depend on those around him to help create chances.

There lies our problem, a total lack of creativity which resulted in so few goals being scored by Maupay or anybody else. If that isn't corrected then we still won't score many goals no matter what striker we sign.

When you look back on last season, Brighton game apart, the goals that kept us in the league were wonder strikes like Doucoure(Bournemouth), Gray( Arsenal, Coleman and Keane as well. We just did not have the players in the team that could create chances.

Loan with obligation isn’t really a loan tbf just a delayed transfer. It’s unlikely to be accepted but it depends on the total value of the package. If Atalanta offer 20m up front and we offer 35m but spread over 5 years, they at least have a a decision to make.
