22mil euro is 18mil if we do a 5yr deal it’s 3.6 mil a year. Basically what we’ve just got the simms and the kid who’s gone to Chelsea. The stumbling block is if Leeds what 10 upfront say, then it will need probably moshiri to put his hand in his pocket. But that down payment wouldn’t affect P&S.

Also which has been pointed out by plenty of fans. What we spend now we have 11 months to balance this years accounts
All this is true from a book / FFP perspective- we can easily do it from that point of view. The issue this summer like you say is the actual availability of cash.

The price is quoted in Euros, but everyone will continue to put the figure in pounds for years to come. Happens all the time. It's no wonder commentators can't stop mentioning that Moshiri has spent 500 billion.

Can play on the right too...in fact has done OK there recently for Italy. Mcneill can also play on the right...
McNeil cannot play on the right - he was forced there when Burnley signed Cornet and later at Everton when tactical genius Frank Lampard didn't know where else to put him, but it's no coincidence that McNeil really kicked off for everton when he was allowed to play off his natural left. However I think Gnonto will be more utilised as a second striker with his ability to play off the hold up play of the main striker. Still it continues our obsession with buying only left wingers and no right sided players. What I would give to sign Romain Faivre from Lyon!

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. If we really have the cash for one biggish money signing this summer, he's not the type of player I'd chose to spend it on. I'd use it to improve the spine of the team through the center, not go for a 19yo flash harry winger thats likely to be booted into the stands within the first 5 mins of most games.

From the Leeds fans I've heard describe him, he seems like the next Adama Traore, only smaller. He's not been linked to any other PL team that I can recall, so what are we seeing that none of the rest do? For sure, if he does well for us his value is likely to rocket given his age. I just don't trust our scouting team to be able to find the jewel where others can't.

Our best outfield player last season (IMO) was Dwight McNeil - a left winger.

So our first actual money signing this summer now looks to be a left winger in Gnonto.

Utter genius to start strengthening our stronger areas first with a limited budget.

Expect we'll sign De Gea next on a massive wage and then be done for the summer.

Stats wise he seems to be most effective as a second striker.

I would imagine that he would be rotating and developing into the Doucoure role.

That’s why I said Will moshiri put his hand in his pocket. That’s for maybe big down payments. Small ones shouldn’t be an issue with what we’ve brought in. And will continue to sell as many fringe players as we can

Tend to agree - I was hopeful when McNeil came here that he'd be able to play from the right, but he's the most one-footed player I've ever seen play for us and that meant that he only ever had the option of running into traffic when he played from the right. It was predictable and easy to stop. At least when he plays on the left, the natural inclination to keep the ball on his left foot shields it slightly from players looking to take the ball from him

One of the reasons I really like the idea of Jack Harrison is that he's far more comfortable doing that job that I originally hoped McNeil could do, drifting in from the right onto his left foot because he has a decent right foot which makes it less predictable, but also that he can play the McNeil role on the left too

I think it could be:

Iwobi/Mills Doucoure/Gnonto McNeil/Gray

If we could sell Gray and Iwobi for El Bilal we'd have:

El Bilal Toure
Gnonto
McNeil
Doucoure
Mills

We'd just need a new centre forward and things look a lot more promising.

Hey new guy here, from Australia and certainly don't have the history you guys/gals have but;

2 questions

Is toffeenut the in the know guru?
why do Newcastle seem to hate us, Ive seen a lot of potshots on twitter
The Nut is our medical guru, if he drops a name or hint, it’s go time

As for the Geordie Arabians, it’s purely down to Pickford because he’s a Sunderland guy

Reactions: GN!

He's 19 and has scored 2 goals in a decent league after having a hit and miss season at Leeds.
Gnonoto: Age 19: Started 24 games, Scored 2, Assists 4
McNeil: Age 23: Started 36 games, Scored 7, Assists 3
The season before McNeil scored 0 goals and 1 assist in 38 starts.

Do you think players are able to get better as they get older, particularly a 19 year old?
