Last summer EFC spent 78m on 5 players, plus one free transfer (Tarks) and two loans (Coady and Vinagre).

We had Richard Arlison sold on day 1 of the window for £60m.

Despite our fall from grace, we are still a top 6 club in terms of fan base. That along with the TV money etc. should give us more than £18m a year net transfer spend in the current game. We obviously haven't got that though due to the previous mismanagement and incompetence. Much of that structure is still in place at board level.

I think Dyche is one of a few managers in the game that can bring us a bit stability on a budget by keeping us in the prem. But if we go into the season with DCL (think he's very very good when fit but cannot guarantee us 25 plus games) and Neal Maupay as our striking options then we are in real trouble.
