In Jan they wanted Maupay and Dia has been linked elsewhere (even to us) over the past 6months.

Dia is on loan from Villareal with an option for 12mil euros. Id expect Maupay and £15mil could do it.

Dia + El Bilal Toure for under £30mil (and Maupay) would be smart business.

He had a bad injury a couple of months back....type of injury you would want us to stay away (muscular with surgery to correct it)

Figured there must be some sort of downside ! And that is why the rumour coincided with his return.

Best to avoid more DCL, Mina-like situations - good players that are injured isn't much help.

If we have to make a big sale this summer, then for me it should be Onana rather than Pickford. If Onana could fund a couple of forwards like Toure and Gyokeres or similar, as well as a cheaper CM then that could be decent. But we would still need a CB and LB after that.

We'll have to do what other clubs have done and look for free transfers and loan deals.

There's no reason to think Dyche wont have his own doable list he'll hand onto Thelwell. He's not daft. He knows exactly what he's got to play with cash-wise and will have been lining players up for weeks / months.

Pickford has been vital but would not be for selling Onana at all. We should be building sides around players like that.

I just think it's a bigger wrench for the team to sell Pickford. Onana is not yet established and is more potential than finished product and we already have CM options. Obviously in an ideal world we don't sell either but if a big sale is necessary then it's Onana for me.

If we don’t get any announcements of free transfers in the next week or so, we’ll know we’re in real trouble. Thelwell should have been working on them for weeks by now, even with the uncertainty hanging over us.

You will be lucky on that, didn't Toure sign a 6 year contract not long ago?

They have a highly rated centre forward Boulaye Dia. He'd be a good signing for us and has been linked before.

If we could launch Maupay to them and bring in Dia + El Bilal Toure i think we'd look decent up top next season for relatively low expenditure.

Absolutely cracking player that Dia.

The goal he scored against Napoli was too drawer.
