Summer transfer window 2023

He scores at a decent rate. But he has usually been a sub which likely means he struggles to give you starter minutes on a regular basis.
I've always liked him, on his day he's a superstar. He just seems to be very inconsistent. He could score a hat-trick in one game, and the next three games be the worst player on the pitch. A manager that could fix that would have a 50M+ player on their hands. At 26 (almost 27) though, thats a really tough ask.

I reckon once the forwards are sorted then it will allow for us to try and push out the deadwood more.

….players will only move if a club is interested in signing them & they want to give up a big bucks contract.

I fear we are in a position of letting deals run down but lets not forget, Tom Davies was offered a contract extension so the signs aren’t good.

We still need a cb badly
A left back would be a huge bonus but young would do there for a year
And two more attackers

I’d say we have enough CBs but 3 of them would be glue and dog food by now if they were horses.

I’d think that we need to see Holgate or one of the other two out before a CB comes in.

I’d like us to get a Patterson level LB in to take the spot over the season, less the injuries obvs

Isn't iheanacho injured alot or have I just made that up
He’s not. He just doesn’t get picked. Won’t be an issue here
He was injured a bit during the second half of last season and, along with a woefully out of form/also injured at times Jamie Vardy, was arguably part of the reason why they ended up going down. The main reason of course was that their defence was shocking throughout the season and conceded too many.

I thought that when we reverted to signing players with either or all of very inflated fees, contracts and wages (and in some of those cases for poor footballers) years ago, it sent clear smoke signals up as to our desperation.

The next stage was players being courted dilatory style (on the radar...mulling over...showing interest in...vying with X to impress ..) then them eventually kb'ng us and joining others. Our stock with everyone is the lowest it's been.....and as an Evertonian from a kid in the late 60s, that's a further arrow through the heart after the shameful club hierarchy mess and the relegation traumas.

He probably, like us, wants to see direction of travel. If we get in the rumoured 3, and we have a much better season then he might fancy it.. if it’s the same as last 2 seasons he might want less stress! Never joining a champions league team though!
I'm hoping this is the case, and doing some half decent business in the transfer market makes him more comfortable to sign a contract. Might even help if the first two are a Nigerian team-mate and another guy who was born in Nigeria.

Personally I like Iwobi and would really like him to stay, but even if you don't it's still better to have the option to sell him rather than be forced to do so to avoid losing him for nothing.

We have enough centre backs however three are truly dreadful. It’s a ticking time bomb area.

I think standards are so low now, any striker even iheanacho is getting people excited.
I don't think it'd be a "how far we've fallen" type signing at all. That was Rondon. For me Iheanacho would be a very decent "traditional" Everton signing, not flashy, not too pricy, but very solid and practical. We used to do that well and forgot about doing it for a few years.

If standards have slipped from paying 25m for some donkey from Besiktas I'm all for it.
