Hmm I do wonder though whether managers of these teams really do want effectively extra PL games added a couple of weeks before what’s already a long hard season.
I don’t know which is right and which is wrong but we are doing a pre season the manager has designed and other clubs are doing a pre season their commercial departments have designed.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention on pre season.
The only thing we should be worrying about is the absence of 3-4 signings including a striker - without these signings we will struggle.

I know but in the absence of any further signings what else is there to talk about? Incidentally I wouldn't be bothered if we were beaten 4-3 by Bolton. 0-0 is an unacceptable result in a friendly for me...that level of caution is really worrying
It’s pre season and the main importance is fitness. I’ve watched prem teams face each other and the even though the pace is quicker, can they last the 100 mins week in week out.
I do believe under dyche we will be one of the fittest teams in the league. Meaning we can go the distance. Teams like Brighton can come at us full pelt for 60-70 mins, but if we are organised and stay tight the last 20-30 mins can be the difference from a loss to draw or draw to a win.
People will see that won’t matter if we are 3 goals down by that time. But we need to be organised, with counter attacking and forcing mistakes being are strength.

Pre season doesn't mean anything at all. Unless you've not watched any football for the last few years I don't know why you would be surprised that Aston Villa and Brighton and all them look better than us it's not because they're playing better pre season friendlies its because they are better than us! There's a hundred and one things to be worried about with Everton and the standard of teams we're playing in July is definitely not one of them!

Perhaps. Maybe they feel it come the end of the season but if they've had a good start the momentum could carry them.
We barely have a commercial department so I can see why we aren't involved. Raising our profile, earning more money to get a bit more quality in the door to rotate slightly overworked players would be better imo.
Meanwhile our manager is getting ours 'fit fit' until we start and he says something like 'once we get our competitive match fitness up' or something.
Maybe we'll hit the ground running, hope so, but those other clubs I've seen definitely will be.
Fulham might be easier as they've lost their two best players in mitrovic and pereira but even they might out fight us. We need to see more grit in Stoke match
