Summer transfer window 2023

That's all fair enough. But it also reinforces the point of the importance to be clear with our targets, from the work and due diligence since Jan.

Very very clearly, we are using a scatter gun method and that's completely unacceptable.

As other posters have said, the forwards we have been linked with invariably are all different style players.
But if you base your verdict on a club's transfer strategy on players clubs are linked with, it'll always appear to be a scattergun method, because alongside the players they are genuinely looking at you will have a whole stack of made up or planted stories about players they aren't remotely interested in. Naturally there will be no real pattern when at least half the players linked are not actual targets.

You may be right, but we can only really tell what the strategy is when we see the actual back up plan now EBT is off the table.

Personally, I would never have offered Coleman a new deal and would’ve gone all out for Kyle Walker-Peters to start with Patterson rotating.

Young at left back is pure stop gap; although his versatility might prove useful. Hope that we have “Buy Left Back” at the top of the to-do list from January onwards.

Warrington, I would’ve kept to do the Davies minutes; not sure of Onyango there, but we’re splitting hairs I suppose. If Onyango goes on loan too, I can see us maybe keeping Gomes, which is completely the wrong call.

All that being said, we’re not far off now. We need a starting quality centre back though and I’m terrified that Dyche will forego that to just stick with Keane there; that would be our biggest mistake.

Two forward players (striker and a wide player), then we’re not in too bad a shape. It gets us through the season, when we hopefully are able to make further changes next summer (right back, left back, replacement centre mids for Gueye and Doucoure, and a permanent version of Danjuma/ wide player).

1 goal and no assists last season.

Not sure hes a player I would be going all out for, personally.

Decent player, but I feel like we need full backs who can create.

Danjuma is surely a definite starter, he's very good. It's more a question of which position.

Not Tofeenut, Not Bobble, not even Al has anything to say. We really must be far away from getting anyone…

Aye, tofeenut usually calls it fairly early - so we must be some way away from signing.

Tbh, I think we all knew the transfer window was going to be a shambles.

Best to just watch the Womens World Cup....
