If it looks like a duck swims like a duck and quacks like a duck it’s probably a duck and if a club looks skint doesn’t buy anyone for a year and keeps saying it’s skint then it’s probably skint. It’s the most obvious thing in the world to me that we ain’t got a pot to pee in but you tell yourself dyche is the one stopping players from signing if it makes you feel better Simon I suppose it would be nice if it was that simple and we could sack him and make everything ok so it’s understandable to tell yourself that fairy story.
I never said the club wasn't skint, none of us know the reason for not making moves in the market. We never really explored the free market and we don't seem to be doing much in terms of loans either at the moment. Also just so you are aware I haven't talked myself into anything and I certainly wouldn't sack another manager, I'm simply exploring the options and as I said none of us know!!

Villa have done some amazing business Tielemans, Torres and Diaby... Scary how far were falling behind teams like this now.
The only pleasure about being an Everton fan in the near future is the new ground, and even that will wear off extremely quickly if Kenwright is still clinging on / we're still flirting with relegation / we're in the Championship.

There will be no footballing success for Everton in the 2020s, and I think if we can get to 2030 as a once again top 8 team it'll be a huge success, which in itself is incredibly sad.

We can rule out being anywhere near to City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle. Spurs and Villa are both looking to be some years ahead of us in their development while the likes of Brighton, Brentford and Fulham will not be easy teams to overtake in the next 2-3 years.

BMD will be great until we all remember we're still a nothing club and a shiny new stadium isn't going to propel us past State-owned and/or genuine megaclubs like United and Liverpool who have tens of millions of fans around the world.

Tielsmans free
Torres 33m + addons
Diaby 43m + addons

So 76m + addons for 3 internationals at good ages with excellent reputations and u call that an insane amount of money. How much do you think PL players of their calibre should cost?
It's insane when you compare it to us getting world class striker maupay for 15 mill. We've just got an eye for a bargain mate ...

Kenwright still has that traditional view that the Chairman partakes in transfer activities. He is not the only one Sullivan at West Ham is the same, he still involves himself heavily in first team business. Most other teams moved away from that type of model and towards the dedicated recruitment team working under a DoF/Sporting Director years ago.
But if you asked kenwright what the actual role and expectations of a chairman is,he wouldn't be able to give you a coherent answer. I don't think there's a consistent model for how the club operates I wouldn't be surprised if some negotiations are handled by kenwright and then others are delegated to the dof in slapdash fashion with no actual order to how things unfold

Post after post about Thelwell and I am not convinced by him either but with a very small budget and Kenwright and Moshiri having to sign off on every player his team identifies and then negotiate for them, is it any wonder how we end up with a lot of unimaginative/bad recruitment? We had issues under Brands too he didn't know what the EPL required and was likely blocked as Chairman Bill and Moshiri interfered often, how can any DOF do his job in these circumstances? Until they go we are in very big trouble.

diaby 51mil
torres 31mil
tielemans free
82mil

Keane 30mil
Iwobi 35mil
Maupay 15 mil
80mil

I don’t mean all as in this window. I’m talking about their exorbitant spending since they came back up. It’s never spoken about unlike us who apparently are 50p shy of a 10 point reduction.

(“We sold Grealish!” nice, we also sold people)

Is anyone really surprised with the shambles that's going on once again ? I really hoped that we'd have a plan for the summer after messing up in January. But deep down I knew we wouldn't have . We are scrambling for loans or nominal fees to sign players .
We aren't going to get the real Everton Football Club back until Kenwright and Moshiri have gone . Until then like it or not we're scrapping it out with the likes of Sheffield United, Bournemouth, etc unfortunately
Spot on all we can hope for is to scrape to safety until then it's telling the club haven't said a word since the final game of last season beyond installment of a intermin board they're in full hands in the sand mode. They know our budget is tiny, they know they have no plan they know they are a failing business. They know the fans are sick to death of it.
