Summer transfer window 2023

Signing a marginally better striker than possibly the worst striker to ever wear the shirt won't save this team. We need a striker that actually contributes. Being better than Maupay isn't enough, just like being better than Gbamin, Holgate, Keane etc.. isn't enough. I'd rather buy one genuinely decent player than five "better than X" players.
yea fair enough
I'll clarify then
Naismith was a lot better than Maupay
and was free

Point I'm making is we can't even seem to find bargains simply to fill out the weaker areas of the squad unless they are 38 y/o(good signing btw)
There must be a few Naismiths knocking around

"PL ready" means exactly what it says: he's ready to get some time there.

If you didn't recognise what he was doing last night then that's maybe the difference between someone who looks beyond eye catching individual skills on the night and those who cant manage that.

Well the manager , coaching staff etc also must believe he isn’t prem ready, seeing as they loaned him out .

He should be retained around a PL squad, getting on the bench, running on for a few minutes if we get in position of an unassailable lead on occasion.

It's dispiriting what they're doing with lads coming through. Literally no young player from our past barring Rooney would get a chance in Everton's team now.

How many bar rooney have gone on to become prem level footballers though?

From Kenwright's shameful open letter to the fans

"And what about other clubs around us? Are they thinking “the Everton Board has gone… it’s going to be easier for us now!!!”

Going from recent history and how this current transfer window is proceeding I'm doubtful that's their sentiment. Delusional windbag needs to scram or not be involved in the transfer process anymore

1 goal and no assists last season.

Not sure hes a player I would be going all out for, personally.

Decent player, but I feel like we need full backs who can create.

Good point. However, the team he played for must be a consideration there too. Personally, I like him and he’d be an upgrade on what we have.

I'm feeling little uneasy that the quality of linked transfer targets deteriorates daily now so by the time we're scrambling in desperation for last minute transfers on deadline day , depressingly the candidates might be below che adams levels at that point

I don’t mean all as in this window. I’m talking about their exorbitant spending since they came back up. It’s never spoken about unlike us who apparently are 50p shy of a 10 point reduction.

(“We sold Grealish!” nice, we also sold people)
stones, lukaku, barkley, richarlison, gordon, kean, gueye, digne, vlasic, lookman, off the top of my head. 300m+ in sales from them.

It's not going to happen. Personally I think he's decent ,however we're struggling to find the funds for attacking players which are the priority by a mile .

Yep, there's something very wrong with our scouting, recruitment and, seemingly, our attractiveness to new players. It's all very worrying.

The only pleasure about being an Everton fan in the near future is the new ground, and even that will wear off extremely quickly if Kenwright is still clinging on / we're still flirting with relegation / we're in the Championship.

There will be no footballing success for Everton in the 2020s, and I think if we can get to 2030 as a once again top 8 team it'll be a huge success, which in itself is incredibly sad.

We can rule out being anywhere near to City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle. Spurs and Villa are both looking to be some years ahead of us in their development while the likes of Brighton, Brentford and Fulham will not be easy teams to overtake in the next 2-3 years.

BMD will be great until we all remember we're still a nothing club and a shiny new stadium isn't going to propel us past State-owned and/or genuine megaclubs like United and Liverpool who have tens of millions of fans around the world.
The hope has to be that when the ground opens that Moshiri will find an opportunity to get his money back and sell up. I am sure MSP will want a return on their investment and they may well start looking for buyers
