Just listened to the bobble podcast depressing. Sounds like we are starting the season with Maupay as Dom unlikely to be fit and unlikely to do much until August comes around. This club I tell you. Absolutely failing organisation. Kenwright and Moshiri are the common theme in the failing recruitment

We horrendously need the MSP deal to be signed off ,this interim nonsense has to be ended asap, clear direction is what’s needed for Everton to move forward ,having serial failures like Kenwright around the place shouldn’t be tolerated , Moshiri just showed how utterly clueless he is when he kept hold of this clown during this period
Think it was a masterstroke to be honest, prob one of the best decisions he's made since coming here.
Just not for us, or the state of the club.

Luckily we're blues and don't expect anything less

Yep. Not to mention the fact our budget for a new striker is a £4m down-payment. Will get absolutely nowhere with that.

I don’t mean all as in this window. I’m talking about their exorbitant spending since they came back up. It’s never spoken about unlike us who apparently are 50p shy of a 10 point reduction.

(“We sold Grealish!” nice, we also sold people)
About 280m net spend since promotion. So about 75m a year on players. For a team coming up from the Championship that needed a complete rebuild that doesn't seem insane. This is the Premier League, revenues are very high for all clubs and Villa needed to invest to have any chance of staying in the PL. The team that got promoted had a spine of loan players and aging players. Only one player from the Championship has survived and that is McGinn. Mings was on loan when in the Championship and then purchased later in the summer after he returned to Bournemouth.

a lot better than maupay, and free
When Maupay was at Brentford I really wanted Villa to sign him, he was excellent in the Championship, I was disappointed when we ended up with Watkins and Brighton got Maupay. I watched him a lot in the Championship and yes I know it is a lower level but he was one of the best players in the Championship and looked like he would have a really bright future. There is a much better player there than what u are seeing, hopefully Dyche can get him back to his best

£4m??

If that's the budget they have given to Dyche then its pathetic

Nothing changes until we get a takeover and new ownership.
Honestly, after that they started banging on about how Che Adams is an option. I just don't know how we can be this bad. Adams is absolutely God awful. If we sign him, we have learnt nothing whatsoever from the Maupay debacle. Would genuinely rather keep Cannon, hope DCL can contribute and use Danjuma up front than sign that 💩💩bag.

It won't be Maupay. If DCL isn't fit it'll be Danjuma, who, even if it's not his first position, is miles better than Maupay at CF. Danjuma's record when playing CF for Villarreal was very good.

Don't forget that last season Dyche was starting Gray at CF rather than Maupay. He is under no illusions he's good enough.

Villa have done some amazing business Tielemans, Torres and Diaby... Scary how far were falling behind teams like this now.
At best they will end up with europa league for a number of years, a huge wage bill, mounting debt and eventually will have to sell players to balance the books...the reality is that you can't compete at the top unless your are part of the sky club or owned by Saudi which are prepare to spend crazy money year after year which will probably help newcastle to eventually become the new city.

Can we turn our noses up at the likes of a Che Adams. I genuinely don’t know what the lad is like as a player but we simply cannot go into the season as Maupay as the No 9 . He was wrong from the off and doesn’t and never will be suited to our style currently.

Knew this would happen, if we dont sign anybody in a week people will be DEMANDING we sign him.

Smells a lot like Maupay to me.
