I have faith in Dyche knowing the players he needs to get in to keep us out of a relegation scrap next season.

He'll know who can do a job for him outside the club and he'll know who he can afford to get shut of to fund those incomings.

By the time the new season starts we'll have a competitive team and a decent bench. I feel sure of that.
and enough players to cover all positions, hopefully.

His last post match conference underlines he knows he works within a constrained budget, but he also mentioned never having to work with such limited options.

The incomings wont be household names - and if they are many will reject them because they'll be free or loaned or cheap - but he'll sort this squad out in terms of depth and availability for a long season ahead.

sounds, 'a little' like Mr Kendall back in 1981, when he signed a few, unknowns, though that isn't a direct comparison to squads and where we are currently at. But reminiscent nonetheless!!

I don't mind working that way, i think its probably a better way of operating... it would show they must know the player... whereas recent history would suggest otherwise in terms of what we have been signing!

Such an easy decision to do to sign him up I thought. Feels like the summer’s first mistake. Unless we’re actually selling Godfrey and KeNe with a couple more coming in, we’ll regret it.
I'm on the fence a bit with this one but what I'd say is that the easy decision is frequently the wrong one. If we sign no other CBs now this was a very bad call but think we need to see what they have in mind.

I didnt think he pulled any trees up for us so not that bothered. Lets see who Dyche brings in before deciding whether its a good or bad call.

Don't forget that we'll have to sell anyone who will attract a decent fee to ensure that we make some positive moves financially.
I imagine the rage from several on here and twitter when we sell someone for £40m+ and reinvest in cheap or free more workmanlike players will be palpable.

I agree with this. Adding goals to the team may prove tough though as that's the part that usually requires a lot of money.

Two of our three best CBs from last season walked out the door, while Keane, Godfrey and Holgate cling on. I’m not sure we can just assume Jarrad hits the ground running and the other three we know we can’t trust so suspect we’ll need to bring one in. Unless we have another freebie up our sleeves it’ll cost more than the 4m Coady would have so just hope we don’t spread the budget too thin.

Would have liked to keep him and a sensible signing.

However, seeing as Dyche moved onto Mina (now gone) it could mean hes backing Branthwaite which would be an exceptional decision.

FIrst Tom Krauss from Leipzig linked for circa £5mil and now this.

Defensive midfielders...makes sense and good value additions if true.

Yeah just what we need another past his best player who certainly isnt going anywhere for low wages. Id rather spend what little money we have on someone who has potential. Weve been there over the years taking old men on to see out their careers and very rarely has it worked. We need youth hunger and ambition not auld men going through the motions.
Fair enough…I did say it would be unpopular, I’m just not sure we have the money for that who have the require quality or potential. BTW Vardy has never struck me as the type of personality who just goes through the motions
