Then how can he be the answer to our main problems?

DCL should be factored out of any calculations that have safety next season in mind.

As for fees: we were in this boat last summer and still wasted big cash on Maupay

I just mean that a fit DCL goes along way to sorting out what we need up top. I know we can't factor in him due to the last two seasons.

We need to find a player that can hold the ball up as close to DCL attributes as we can get. Not easy I know, but we may need to settle for someone. Whoever we get, here is going to be saying he's gash or whatever the cool kids say these days. He probally will be rubbish, unless we get someone that comes in a does a lot better than expected. We can go on about Maupay as much as we want. But he's here, its not working and thats were we are. I'm struggling to see anyway he fits in our team. We can't even play him up top with a big man in a 442, as we don't have anyone like that.

…..that’s ridiculous.

The PL is such a huge attraction to aspiring young players. If it’s a high profile in demand young player with options then our status matters, especially when it’s BK on the telephone trying to convince him to sign but thats not the pond we should be fishing in.

You may be right but I'm unsure which pond we should be paddling in & why highly paid people haven't found it.

I think Everton, to reasonably aware agents, would be a "meh" destination. Let's hope I'm completely wrong.

Since his hot streak under Carlo when he was on about 15 goals after 10 games or something stupid like that dom has only scored about 10 more goals in two and a two thirds seasons why would anybody think they were going to be second choice to him it makes no sense.
I personally don't think it's got anything to do with DCL whatsoever that players don't want to sign for us.

The cat's out the bag and everyone knows what an utter basket case of a club we are.

Surely any half decent agent would advise their client against joining us simply for the reason that in recent years we've looked like a place where football careers go to die.

On top of that the kind of deals we could be getting done, young high potential players who are just getting started making the first steps in their career, are being vetoed by the 2 morons in charge.

We're absolutely screwed.

He's done it since day one so he won't change tact now. Ultimate yes man. Villa went out and got Emery and Monchi, we had Thelwell and added Dyche. Look at our respective fortunes since.
Thelwell reportedly wanted Corberan as manager but he had just gone to WBA and until we actually let the DoF (Thelwell or another) actually pick the manager/coach that they want to work with (not who the chairman/owner want) then nothing changes here imo.
