Summer transfer window 2023

Wonder if the club had even considered contacting Chelsea/Lukaku over a season long loan given his current circumstances..

Even if we offered to pick up most of his wages for the season and he was up for coming back it's much better than nothing!

Afternoon mates.

Welcome to the 30th July Everton transfer show…..

I’ve tried to bundle together as many of the transfer rumours flying around, combining them into one bite size and heart burn inducing portion for your dining pleasure.

I make some apology for some of the sources and articles used.

Everton are believed to be in talks with Corinthians over a move to sign forward Yuri Alberto.

Attention now seems to be on signing a new centre-forward after the club netted just 34 times in 38 Premier League games in 2022/23 – the second-fewest of any side in the division. Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggled through injury, scoring twice in just 18 appearances, with the club’s top scorer being winger Dwight McNeil with seven goals.

Marseille have been quoted £30m for Iliman Ndiaye should they wish to make their move. The forward has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks, linking him not only with interest from the Ligue 1 side, but with Everton and Nottingham Forest as well.

Dean Jones in Corriere dello Sport reported on 26 July that Toffees striker Dominic Calvin Lewin had been “proposed” to Jose Mourinho’s side as an alternative to West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca, with 26-year-old supposedly “happy” to play for the Portuguese in Rome.

The former Eurosport journalist told GIVEMESPORT: “The Calvert-Lewin links to Roma were pretty loose and at the moment with them focusing on Gianluca Scamacca and also trying to bring in Renato Sanches in a different position as a priority, there is not really any need for Everton to worry about losing him.

Everton and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing the French defender Oumar Solet from Red Bull Salzburg.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Oumar Solet is keen on a move to the Premier League. And it will be interesting to see if the likes of Everton and Newcastle follow up on their interest to sign the 23-year-old French defender with a concrete proposal.

Aston Villa have set their sights on Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior after the Italian giants were thrown out of the Europa Conference League, although Unai Emery’s side will reportedly face competition from Everton for the signing.

As per Football Italia, who cite reports emerging from Italy, there will be big changes at Juve this summer, due to the team not playing in Europe and the fact club chiefs hope to lower their wage bill.

With the confirmation that El Bilal Toure is to join Atalanta, Everton have been forced to once again revise their summer transfer targets.

This has become a theme of this transfer window as it was in the previous one, with the Toffees striving in vain to secure their first-choice signings and then those players end up somewhere else.

Now, having missed out on Toure, it is being reported that Everton will turn their attention to another teenager, Club Bruges forward Antonio Nusa.

Everton defender Mason Holgate moving on this summer would be the 'right thing for him in his career' as Sean Dyche continues to streamline hid squad ahead of the new campaign commencing, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Everton have been watching Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James during pre-season, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (30 July) that the Blues are not the only side showing an interest in the Wales international, with Serie A clubs also potentially plotting a move for him.

Big Sean prepping us for zero further signings with his “we’re happy with the squad we have” comment.

With all the leavers and loans out we’re in a much worse position than previous seasons.

Criminal from the owner and chairman - nothing has changed at the club. Negligence to be relying on there being 3 worse teams than us yet again, our luck will run out.

Watching Villa v Brentford and we are so far off this level it’s embarrassing.

It's a great game isn't it?

This is 7th v 9th from last season and both teams could easily finish higher tbh (Brentford beat Spurs and Man. City end of last season without Toney). Diaby already making a huge difference for Villa in final third.

For the few predicting 8th-10th this season this is the standard you need and this club is sadly miles off now with current options.

How do you know you have to replace a vital player for almost 3 years and, seemingly, have nobody lined up, at all? How is this STILL a thing?
This is Everton. We still haven't replaced Coleman yet(arguably), and we've needed to for about 3-4 years. Never change Everton, never change...
