‘Youssef Chermiti, a 19-year-old forward, is a small step away from becoming an Everton player in the coming seasons, since Sporting and the English emblem are just finalizing details with a view to the realization of the deal.

In this sense, and as has always been the desire of the lions, the player will yield, in total, €15M, and the club based in Liverpool pays €12.5M immediately and the remaining €2.5M is dependent on objectives, still easy to achieve.

In addition, Sporting still safeguards 20 percent in a possible future sale.’

Translation of that A Bola article
No way we pay that much up front. We wouldn't have anything left to invest in other areas if we did that.

Bobble even said in his podcast that we are looking to put a down-payment of about £3-5m on him. Now you can believe or not believe that as you wish, but there's no way we are putting that much down for a youth player in our current predicament.

Look, I'd love us to sign Wharton and I don't think our midfield composition is great. But (if we assume Gomes and Gbamin will be punted out), we actually have Garner, Gana, Onana, Doucoure, Iwobi and Dele for midfield positions. Yes, I know they are all different types of player, but I just can't see the club investing money in that area over the summer, unless we sell Onana.

Whereas, Holgate is on the way out, and we only have Keane and Godfrey for CBs. I know Dyche inexplicably likes one of them, but I can't imagine he wouldn't want another CB in there.
Gana dacoure iwobi all going to acon i think so that is a risk,if we get any injury then with dele is no time scale when the lad will be back ready for the first team. Can see it as an area we will be looking at with maybe the birmingham lad jordan james a cheaper option to wharton.

Think it's a translation thing. 12.5m immediately I take to mean as without conditions or clauses, then the remaining amount is based on hitting certain targets.

It doesn't mean we're paying that much up front. It means there's that amount guaranteed and the rest in add ons. If we do the deal, it'll obviously been on the drip.

It's just a poor translation.

We have one game in January don't we?

I suspect that the context was lost in translation and it means 15m total fee with 2.5m in bonuses and 12.5m guaranteed as opposed to an immediate payment

Dele won't be featuring for a long time if at all. Iwobi isn't really a central midfielder which leaves JG, IGG and AO, one of whom will get injured. That's a pretty paltry set of options we've got there.

They mustn't half rate him if they're paying that + 20% sell on.

Surprised we're moving for him so late in the window...

Stinks of an agent selling us "an opportunity". If we had been scouting him for a long time and seriously thought Chermiti was the answer, at £10-12m, you would think he would have been wrapped up earlier in the transfer window.

It happens all the time when you have a club desperate to fill a problem position, having recently made a large bid and missed out on securing their main target (Bilal Toure). Agents know we have money available and swoop in "Have you thought about this player? He's a great talent, the next Drogba! If you don't take him now, he will go for £60m next summer".

Dont think we would have went for him and toure, he does look like bilal toure when he was in france. Both have similar profiles to dcl, i do think this could change who we want to come in as another cf. Do need more experience as dcl backup and have chermitti as third choice

The 3 in bold arent DM/CM players under Dyche though...
