Summer transfer window 2023

I was musing on our signings and rumours so far this window and had a bit of a lightbulb moment. I am sure Red Kev sat down with the requirements at the start of the window for all the positions we needed to strengthen and then looked at the budget - shocking mismatch!!
So the strategy would be to fill the gaps with either older free agents (experience)or very raw young (inexperienced) professionals from the continent, on loan if possible. I think the rule is 2 loans from UK and 2 from outside but will await correction.
Non UK loans:
Danjuma
Etikite

UK Loans:
Sulemana
TBD

Free Agents:
Young

Within the constraints of the rules this would also have to be a volume approach due to the potential for hit/miss in this part of the market so we could see several younger signings for the same role.
The outlier to all this is someone like Gnonto, Chermiti or EBT - Maybe there is room for one signing circa 20M-30M or maybe the calculation works if we drip feed the cost across 5 years. Either way this approach would suggest that after Chermiti we would only hope for 2 more signings and they would both be attackers.

Why both attackers? You mean Gnonto and Sulemana as you included both in the post?

After Gnonto, im hoping we bring in a young CM. Possible loans like Ekitike and Sulemana not withstanding.

Providing Pickford doesn't get sold, which he won't, I would class Danjuma, Young, Chermiti and Gnonto a relatively successful window. One more striking open and it will have ended very well. But it may take a long time for players to settle in, players who don't know the club, don't know the way Dyche likes to work, need to settle in a new area and possible new country, etc.

To me, it's criminal to send a squad into the season with ONE winger available (who is on the verge of being sold anyway) and ONE real striker who nobody knows will even be able to last longer than a game or two.

The board and DoF need to get their acts together and stop making the same mistakes. We could very easily take very few points from our opening set of fixtures and it will all be on those in charge of recruitment. What if DCL pulls a hamstring against Fulham?

We essentially forfeited about 10 games last season without a single striker, I hope this will be the last time we go into a season with a threadbare squad.

we need a 15 goal striker atleast

and “it could be the last time we are in the premier league”

DUE to a “threadbare squad”

Genuinely always good to see players desperate to join Everton, it instantly endears them to fans. Same thing happened with Kudus last year, obviously that didn't play out. If Gnonto does sign I think he'll instantly be a fan favourite and will hit the ground running because of it.

He's very scrappy, a bit of a snide and is lightning. I think people will love him here.

CB before CM, Zat. Gana, Garner, Onana, Doucoure and Gomes as a last resort will do us.

Keane, Holgate and Branthwaite (unproven) as partners to Keane is not something we can hang our hats on.

I think ive written this so many times in here now lol

Iwobi likely to play wide right + Doucoure in advanced midfield.

Gbamin, Gomes out the door and Dele would be advanced

Leaving Gana, Garner and Onana for 2 positions...not enough.

We still have 5 centre backs...we can sell 1 and still need to sell a 2nd before theres space for a new player.
