Perhaps, but if it was a loan and we were also signing another striker, you can follow the logic given the likelihood that cash is going to be hard to come by?

Look, if am honest - I dont see it as the worst signing - he is a unit and even though he doesn't score a lot, he is good at holding the ball up and has a lot more ability then people give him credit for. He is 100% more effective then Maupay, but a cone is.

If he got back to his days in Germany he would be a useful addition.

I just think he would be 100% a signing for Dyche, and really we need to be a bit removed from concentrating on signings as gifts for managers. Am not sure we would a get a loan out of Burnley, but it would be probably the right move.

I know we're not flush with cash but I'm sick of players on loan tbh. Sure we'll have our hand forced and have to take a couple on to make up the numbers but it's no way to build a cohesive squad in my opinion and surely that's the end goal for Dyche.

Is a symptom of long covid not being able to play football? I didn’t see that on Chris Whitty’s PowerPoint.

Well if inhalers can apparently improve performance to trophy winning levels then surely a bad dose of covid can have the opposite effect.

I’d take Dembele and Weighorst right now as
A) Dyche would probably do ok with them
B) they are better than Simms and Maupay in terms of a presence and a goal threat.
C) in terms of next season I think their goals would comfortably keep us up.

If Godfrey’s issues were to do with fitness and stamina I’d maybe agree, but they’re not. They’re pretty much all technical. His flaws are the same flaws he had before he had Covid, he isn’t a very good football player.

Yeah 100% if we got Dembele and Weghorst I would feel a bit better, at least we have a few different players to mix it up - if Dom isn't getting back properly fit we have two competent strikers there ready.
