Some of our fans are nuts. We’re in this mess for over paying and buying crap in the past, and yet people are upset that we didn’t spend £35m on Gnonto, or £30m on some crap Southampton winger, or a loan for some West Ham player that’s injured more than DCL. Gnonto would of been the only exciting Signing from the links today, but I’m glad we walked away at that price.

I would have paid £30m all day for Gnonto myself, but it never happened, I’m just glad we never got sucked into panic buying all the others that were mentioned, and they all seemed to be forwards and wingers, which we have enough of.
I think it will be a CM or CB that we will regret not getting.

It's the complete failure to plan ahead and have any kind of coherent strategy that frustrates people.

Who said we’re scraping around.? Not one reliable source has even said we we’re in for anybody today. People linking snide Twitter links all day from pages with 60 followers talking absolute crap isn’t what’s going on.

I must be battle hardened but it’s so obvious to me these days when there are no deals on the cards yet some fans still expect 2/3 even 4 late signings to get us going. It’s never been that way. We go with what we have got unless there is clear evidence of negotiations taking place.

In the cold light of day, especially if we win/draw tomorrow, still with some key injuries that will be back after the break, this should be the takeaway. I was eagerly checking to see if we had grabbed Cornet on loan while he was warming up on the touchline at Luton. Madness. We don’t want him and we don’t need him, we’re are just desperate for some positivity. Basically need some results and some points.

Have been trying for people gnonto the lad from southampton prob more that hasnt come out atm. I am not angry about us over paying for gnonto, i am angry that like the cf postion last season the club have left us short at cb. Even cm gomes gray players the club did not want, we could have atleast got aome loans in today
