Which league do you think is the best in the world mate?

Maupay has never been a consistent scorer in this league, I wouldnt have signed him.

I remember him missing open goals weekly for Brighton.
I’m mostly just messing around here. However, the best league is the prem. But it’s not as if other leagues are crap and players in them are crap as a result. We’d finish comfortably in the bottom half in Italy, Spain, and Germany as thing stand. There are players who are 27 in MLS today that would improve Everton, nevermind a striker who was successful in Italy.

Because last time I checked football didn’t just last for 4 years?

How’s our spend looking for 2020 onwards? We’ve now got a billionaire owner who can’t spend anything even if he wanted to.

Of course we didn’t spend the money wisely (before you jump on that one) but should it really be that Everton gets one shot at investment in 30 years whilst the top 6 can just have multiple goes at it before eventually getting it right?

Yes we bought some absolute rubbish but in amongst that was some crippling injuries that completely decimated any value from the players. Bolasie Tosun Besic Gbamin Gomes Delph DCL Mina all had their value to the team and balance sheet decimated by injury (regardless of what you think their original value was). Even Godfrey and Patterson have both had their early careers at Everton blighted by injuries.

It’s been an absolute perfect storm which is not absolving Moshiri of any personal blame for his failings but needs to be taken into account. Some of those players could have added significantly more to the team, or sold on for some value, if they weren’t all lying in the treatment table with snapped ACLs or broken legs/ankles
Your opinion of course and fair enough but I think this is nonsense mate.

4 years is not ‘one shot’ and more importantly for 4 years he was spending the club didn’t have! What he did was the equivalent of homeless person keeping finding £50 and taking it straight to the casino.

This period of continued idiotic decision making, along with his incompetent board is the sole reason we can’t spend now and in a financial state.

To gloss over that fact and making excuses for him blaming the scab 6 or injuries is crazy imo.

Cant see anything happening until 1 July, so now that’s rapidly approaching, I’d expected what pittance of a budget we have to begin being spent

I'm not big on buying strikers coming off of a hot finishing season that also happens to be their best season.
I’m confused…you don’t want us to show interest in a striker who in your words had a ‘hit finishing season’ yet you want us to persist with Ellis Simms who scored 1 goal, did not get many opportunities for any manager we have had and is only attracting interest from Ipswich, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday?

If im looking for a Striker im gonna need some consistent digits, in whatever league, of course if they are a very young player, you have to look deeper.

Zat mentioned Drogba, there is also Vardy, but these type of players are very rare.

All im saying, if I had access to the amount of tools that Premier League clubs have, I wouldnt make as many mistakes as these clowns.

So are Haaland types which you used as your example. But yes, Everton have been very very stupid in recruiting. I suspect a dart board would have been a more effective strategy then the geniuses we’ve had making decisions on signings.

With Tom D.'s departure confirmed then it's going to free up a spot in midfield - it will be interesting to see the type of player that Dyche/Thewell bring in during the transfer window.

I'm not really sure what's in opposition about those ideas? I want us to try to find a striker with upside. Simms is that maybe and Dia probably isn't. Seems very consistent to me.

It's the 22nd of June. We will sign players. It would be better to do it sooner rather than later but unless you have wads of cash to throw around that's tough to do.
This.

There's nothing going on so the usual doom and gloom about no money and sell to buy is being thrown around.

Whilst we're all interested and care, none of us on hear has any idea of what budget we are working with, so let's not panic and break out the bleach just yet.

It's still lovely outside, have a beer and enjoy the summer

Everton director of football Kevin Thelwell said:

"We offered Tom a new contract, but he feels he has reached the stage in his career where he needs regular first-team football and, as a result, he wants to look at alternative options away from Everton."
Oh dear, what a pity, never mind
