12m for Weghorst isn't that bad really. Not like he got to play loads of games for the bloke who signed him either.

12m for a goal every 12 months is abysmal and Weghorst is an actual donkey.

Admittedly I've not seen him play more than a handful of times on TV but isn't he more of an attacking midfielder than an out and out striker?

He mostly played as a centre forward last season (23 games), as a second striker (13 games) and as an attacking midfielder (9 games)

He reminds me a bit of Rooney tbh, he’s capable of dropping a bit deeper, but he’s a centre forward.

The striker that we should be in for is Ndiaye, imo. I think he looks better than Gyokeres, and that he will more likely be a success in the premier league with the possibility of a big money move in the future.

He only has a year left on his contract, but Sheffield United will be screwed without him, so he won’t come that cheap. If we used the Gray and Simms cash to replace them with Ndiaye, then I think that would be a great upgrade at centre forward.

Ive liked the look of him but honestly think Gyokeres is the one we should be in for and compliments what we have IMO.

His record pre Burnley was ridiculous. Signed for them and then Dyche was out the door not long afterwards.

12m is perfectly acceptable for him. His lack of goals for United would worry me of course but he played most weeks for them for a reason too.

I'm not saying we should sign him or anything but he is nowhere near as bad as people make out.

He is a good player and would be an excellent signing but he is going to want to drop off and run at people, he isn't a target man type like Dom. He would make a great upgrade on Doucoure then with someone else up top.

@MikeH72 window is open but registration isn't. That's why most deals aren't officially done then. Some deals might get the Twittter announcement in June but they're not actually properly done.

Yeah could be the case.

I think all I am saying is that at the time nobody was raising any eyebrows about paying 12m for him. If anything it looked like a good deal.

Think he could well work beside Dom or just behind him...ooh err. Even one of a three up front. Thought Ritchie and Dom kinda worked but they were hardly a partnership.
