The current squad looks like this:

GK: Pickford / Virginia

RB: Coleman / Patterson

LB: Mykolenko / Godfrey

CB: Keane / Holgate

CB: Tarkowski / Branthwaite

DM: Gueye / Gomes / Gbamin

CM: Onana / Garner

AM: Doucoure / Alli

RW: Iwobi / Mills

LW: McNeil / Gray

ST: Calvert-Lewin / Maupay / Simms / Cannon

Weird how dropping eight players from the squad in Begovic, Lonergan, Coady, Mina, Vinagre, Davies, Nkounkou & Townsend hasn’t really seen us get any worse.

Well I wouldnt have Tarkowski/Branthwaite competing for one position, nor Onana/Garner.

Lets not also forget that Onana is actually a holding midfielder.

It looks thin. We will go down if that doestn change. Self inflicted relegation.

Err not quite. We can’t register anyone before July 1st so no one can actually sign anyone in June.

But I’d include Tarkowski as a June signing since we all knew about it and we just had to wait for July.

The domestic window is open from early/mid June. We signed Pickford and had him unveiled on the 16th June.

One could argue the club is preparing itself for an extended period in the Championship. Removing any kind of quality as backup (Begovic, Coady would be fine backup options) and refusing to make new signings. Seems they still haven't learned that one injury-prone striker isn't enough for a Premier League side.

The striker that we should be in for is Ndiaye, imo. I think he looks better than Gyokeres, and that he will more likely be a success in the premier league with the possibility of a big money move in the future.

He only has a year left on his contract, but Sheffield United will be screwed without him, so he won’t come that cheap. If we used the Gray and Simms cash to replace them with Ndiaye, then I think that would be a great upgrade at centre forward.
Admittedly I've not seen him play more than a handful of times on TV but isn't he more of an attacking midfielder than an out and out striker?

Yes he is more of a second striker/ no.10 type. He did play numerous games up top but his best work (better numbers) were posted from playing just in behind where he can run and dribble at the CB.
