We are third rate. If he improves us and we can get the deal done cheaply, we can't be too proud to turn our nose up at him.

End of the day, even if our existing budget is zero if we could turn Simms and Gray into, say, Piroe and a loan fee for Danjuma we've upgraded our options a good bit without spending money. Pride / vengeance / stubbornness all come secondary to improving the team.

He has been at Arsenal for sommet like 5 years, like you say, on a big wedge. Massive signing on fee and "decent" wages could be attractive if he is near the end of his Arsenal contract. No idea if he is mind.
