Moshiri isn`t selling the club, MSP are pumping in £200m as a loan but being offered shares instead of repayment with MSP getting places on the board...

Moshiri will still be the owner/majority shareholder, Moshiri isn`t going anywhere until the stadium is built then the club might be sold if he can find a buyer and we are still a Premier League side.
Was listening to the esk last night he seems to think MSP will keep buying shares until they dilute Moshiri and then they become major shareholders.

More adaptable than Gyokeres in that he can play anywhere across the front line or even in behind, quite tall, good on the ball, knows where the back of the net is. He isn't mad quick but he isn't slow either.

Doesnt thrill me with excitement.

Sales of players that arent good enough would be more interesting.

We have to start being realistic with signings though, we have little in the way of cash to spend, are on the back of 2 seasons fighting relegation, and like it or not (imo) I don't see players rushing to want to play for Sean Dyche. We are not an attractive prospect at the moment.

The RS casually dumping over 50m on a player who would be our highest signing in history but they keep telling us we spend trillions.
This narrative that we have spent loads every summer needs challenging a bit yes we did waste a fair bit over two summers but since then we have largely offset any purchases with sales. It's another reason why the squad has declined alongside some poor recruitment its selling our best players and being unable to spend much to bring quality back in. The narrative is a stick to further beat us with by the media and other fans because we spent it so badly when we did have money. But it's out of date. Wages are now our biggest issue the fact that we didn't get much for some of the players we did buy and we pushed the boat out again when Carlo was here on the likes of James on big wages.

So here we are, the new financial year.

Piecing together the losses of the past few seasons;

2018/19: -£112m
2019/20: -£140m
2020/21: -£120m
2021/22: -£44.7m
2022/23: Profit??? (from Gordon and Kean sales)

Now I don’t really understand finance or FFP like some of the half evertonian/half accountant types that seem to be around, but I’d take that to mean we’ve already dropped the -£112m loss, and as of today the -£140m loss will drop off too which is the biggest of all.

Now if we’re allowed losses of -£105m over 3 seasons, we might be just about at that mark taking into account the two years of losses and the profits(???) from last year.

So it looks like this year we basically need to continue cutting the top earners, sell to buy, stay in the league any which way, and then next year we’d actually have some decent wiggle room to spend more than a fiver. Open to correction if I’m reading that wrong.

Basically deductions are allowed for a variety of things. Women's team, academy, capital spend on buildings and latterly losses down to Covid. The losses, which were accepted by the PL had us unde 105m.

I am not sure it is credible to accept a deductions one year, to reject those deductions a year later.

The P/L figures we can see on the officially published accounts are the ones used for FFP calculations.

See below.

Precisely. The FFP and the accounting P/L are different calculations and of course figures.

What is your source for this? I haven’t seen it anywhere.

Chelsea spent more in 7 months then we did in 7 years under Moshiri

The media really need to look into it more they just lazily state we have spent 700m, we obviously have declined but we have also sold most of our quality and player assets and then not spent the same on incomings it's no wonder that along with bringing in bad managers like Benitez and Lamps we have declined rapidly on the field.

Anyway I would say striker is the most important position we need a good target man don't trust DCL to be fit.
