Summer transfer window 2023

The media really need to look into it more they just lazily state we have spent 700m, we obviously have declined but we have also sold most of our quality and player assets and then not spent the same on incomings it's no wonder that along with bringing in bad managers like Benitez and Lamps we have declined rapidly on the field.

Anyway I would say striker is the most important position we need a good target man don't trust DCL to be fit.
Totally agree I mean a lot of the money we have spent was on players no longer here some of them are even retired, the media are an utter joke.

Ashley Williams sat on a couch analysing Everton saying " oh look how much money Everton have wasted"

Yeah 12 million of it on you numbnuts

This narrative that we have spent loads every summer needs challenging a bit yes we did waste a fair bit over two summers but since then we have largely offset any purchases with sales. It's another reason why the squad has declined alongside some poor recruitment its selling our best players and being unable to spend much to bring quality back in. The narrative is a stick to further beat us with by the media and other fans because we spent it so badly when we did have money. But it's out of date. Wages are now our biggest issue the fact that we didn't get much for some of the players we did buy and we pushed the boat out again when Carlo was here on the likes of James on big wages.
It will never change when you have Simon Jordon on talkSPORT.
Who is obviously a bright fella and does talk a lot of sense most of the time, yet constantly brings up this 500mil every other day. And never mentions another prem club ever when it comes to spending. And all these monkeys from other clubs just have this in their thick brains.

Well my source would be in previous years the PL accepted the accounts mate, that showed deductions taking us below £105m.

What?!?!? We’ve literally been referred to an independent panel and had to run every signing by the Premier League for the past two years??!?

Basically you don’t have a source and are just wishfully thinking. That’s cool, just say that then.

Oh look
Our net spending is 15th in the table and we’re probably about the 15th best team in the league.

Amazing how Arsenal went from finishing outside European positions to finishing second whilst outspending the entire league… must mean Arteta is a genius? Same with West Ham and Villa, just how did they do it???

Well done to Brighton though, fair play.

Can't feel enthusiastic about the links with Danjuma. He turned his back on us when we were desperate for him to sign as he was the attacker we thought we had in the bag at the end of the transfer window - he would have realised how potentially damaging that was to us. He didn't want to come then so evidently he himself is not enthusiastic about the club. Also rumours he fell out with teammates at Villareal. And Spurs have looked at him and decided he isn't at the level required - so you can only assume that he isn't that good.

2 with a option of another year more a second striker than a dcl option upfront. Just hope dont pay him too much

Given that we need players who will make an instant impact and keep us up, this would make sense on a 2 year deal. He’s got a touch of class that our other strikers bar DCL don’t have. Probably on a big wage but that’s mitigated by him coming in cheap I suppose.

It’s depressing to even be talking in break even terms when we’ve sold 65 million of players since January but if Rodrigo can be signed for a combination of Simms fee and Mina’s wage it’s probably the best of a bad situation.

Easier said than done, but if we can sell gray, iwobi and maupay. That should give us enough to get Rodrigo, danjuma loan. Both can play in a few positions. And then get a starting right sided forward and a new number 9.
