Summer transfer window 2023

Yup it sucks and I was hoping for better than this for this summer. But it’s looking again like the budget is zero and in the short term swapping Simms for Rodrigo makes sense.

If the club has creamed off the Gordon and Kean sales to pay the bills it’s an admission the only target football wise is to stay in the PL while the ground is built. And in the short term Rodrigo does that more than the equivalent spent on younger players.
Yep and sadly that is the right approach. We are in such a hole the only way out would be state ownership that could clear the debts. It is about the survival of the club for the next decade or two

Surely Everton can't sign Danjuma after him walking in Jan, that should be a red line crossed that he can never come back from
Dont like what he did but happens alot in footvall like tielmans going to villa on a free. Us fans will never kno the full facts on what happend with him in jan. if he did act that bad with the club then i am sure they would look at another player.

Touch wood wouldn't go as far as a decade or two. The approach we have now- trying to stay in the PL without a transfer budget- is scary, but if we do pull it off then in 3 or 4 years time not only will we have the revenue from the stadium, but with all the belt-tightening will have one of the best FFP positions in the league as other clubs are all going mad right now. That's a strong position to be in and also would make us a prime target for a big money takeover.

The problem of course is surviving those 3 or 4 years.

I don't have a problem with players leaving on a free at the end of their contract. It is their choice and the club's fault for not managing the situation better. The bottom line is Leicester should have sold Tielemans 2 years ago when he refused a contract. But agreeing to join Everton and turning up for the medical and then going to Spurs at the last minute is effectively telling EFC that he got a better offer and he is taking it. He can't come crawling back and say- now that no other club wants me that Everton is suddenly the club I want to play for.

Yup, that plus the bad years of FFP getting slowly wiped is an opportunity for a real fresh start. It's the perfect set of circumstances for investors to come in and spend some real money.

Was rumours that we held back on the contract aswell, plus with the change in manager he might have wanted promises. If he does come here i am sure he will kno that he has a fight to work hard and get the fans on side.
