If there was a choice between playing Ashley Young or Holgate/Godfrey full back like we did numerous times last season when we had injuries I’d pick Young every time but that’s one hell of an underwhelming start and he needs to be the first of many if true

i also can't see gbamin staying so that is technically 23 players

i also can't see gomes, holgate and maupay sticking around either

it also wouldn't suprise me to see us sell onana if we received an offer in excess of 50 mil for him

we are going to start the season with a squad of less than 20 players aren't we

I mean, there's some logic I guess, he can play either full back position and he did still play 24 games last season in a team much better and deeper than ours, so he's still got something despite his age.

If Young was our 5th or 6th signing of the summer as a bit of depth you'd maybe think it's a sensible move. But psychologically the fact our potential first signing of the summer is 38 years old is pretty depressing.
