Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Chris Rigg would be a coup if we could get that over the line, a real statement of intent.

Elsewhere in the Championship, it's nice to see Isaac Price doing well at WBA; wouldn't be averse to having another look at him. Thought it was a shame at the time to let him go permanently as he looked a natural with the ball at his feet. It seems he just needed consistent game time and a couple of years to fill out his frame.

Price has been amazing for us, if he had been here all season he would probably have been Player of the Season

I think some of your comparisons are a bit unfair there and you could add plenty of nuance to some of those cases if you wanted to.

I would actually say the biggest factor in all those strikers you mentioned (apart from maybe Vardy) is that the manager they are playing under and the tactics their teams employ have a huge influence on their output. All those you mentioned have had their best output playing under top managers. DCL under Carlo, Solanke under Iraola, Bamford under Bielsa. Up until Emery came Watkins' PL output was not a great deal better than Delap's this season.

They've then fallen off when playing under bum managers (Ange, Dyche, Benitez, Marsch etc)

Delap is younger than all of those when they had their good patches too
And add to that that they are all hugely injury prone players throughout their careers. Solanke maybe not but has missed a big portion of the season through injury

Delap for me would be a good signing. I don’t care if he has had only one good season. When I have watched him he looks like a good old fashioned forward, gives it his all with better qualities then all of our current strikers.

Sod this all about purple patches, look at Torres and shechenko both fantastic strikers but when transferred between teams were garbage.
Ya some mad shouts in here saying 30m is too much of a gamble on him for one good season in the PL. Is it his first full season in the PL? with a side that's getting relegated. He has another 1 or 2 seasons like that his price will rocket up further

What if he doesent and its just a case of McKenna knows how to get his centre forward to get 10 goals in a season

Ings, Bamford, Calvert Lewin, Solanke

Carlton Morris got 11 PL goals last season, Elijah Adebayo got 10 both in a side worse than Ipswich have been
